SCAR Light vs XM8

I am interested in getting one of these 2 guns, and I know both are very very high performance weapons that bowl over people and I do very well with both of them. However, I want to know the differences between the two, which one you prefer and why, and what is the ideal situation to use either rifle to help me decide which one I will buy.

I think I actually prefer the xm8 over the skill light nowadays. It used to be the other way around until I played with the xm8 a lot.

The Scar is more highly owned (more ppl use it),the xm8 ihas a scope,they are both accurate,the scar ,i think,shoots faster.The xm8 ,i think is more powerful.I couldn't decide.Both

XM8 because it has scope,has a fast R.O.F while u dont scope and it is powerful...i got it too

ok scar light is my wep now and seriously it owns azz but it takes a while to master it.
xm8 i loved dat gun it has good acuracy but the scar has better recoil and Fire rate and power

Imo, XM8>Scar Light

With the XM8 you tend to get people saying "wtf". It's barely used and I believe sometimes underestimated.

I suggest you buy the XM8. If you can't afford to buy both then don't worry about it /: so many people have the scar you're bound to find it on the floor and pick it up. I don't think you'll regret it.

Id say go with the XM8.
Scar Light is a great weapon since it has Very Low Recoil.
But if you master XM8 like my friend, You can get headshots out the ass.
XM8 is a great gun if u master it. Scar is a great starter weapon

I always thought that the XM8 was more powerful and was more accurate with the dot sight, though the SCAR shoots faster and has less recoil.

I feel both are pretty even matched. Virtually identical weight, accuracy, ROF, and power.
Although I like the scar light slightly more because of its low recoil, and i find the scope on the
Xm8 to be useless since its so FAT!!!

I have both of them and both are good guns. The xm8 I think has a stronger recoil and a slower ROF otherwise they are pretty much the same. If you rush a lot go for scar light. If you like camping or staying back, get the xm8.

Ive pretty much covered everything....

agreed.....m4 custom scope is waaaaayyyy better.

Ahhahahhaha yeaaaahh......
And i never trusted those stats....when i was a noob (o the days back then), the SG has better stats than the m4 so i bought it...and it sucked...

Those stats are out of date, they haven't been updated since all those patches came through. The XM8 is undoubtedly more powerful, but has more recoil though the SCAR Light has a much faster firing rate. Those stats go to show how out of date they are. It says the K2 has the same amount of power as the SCAR Light. The SG552 also has much less stats than that.

Overall, I think I'm getting my XM8 after my Deagle.

If you can't control recoil and need a laser beam to kill people use the Scar.


If you have some skill, and also enjoy doing damage through objects (Wood boxes, wood doors, etc) then use the xm8.


I love the xm8.
