How to become a MLGamer?

I was just curious how you become a sponsored gamer and a major league gamer, or like a GM?
Mlg is for real games.
Like COD4, H3, WOW, etc.
It helps to place well in gamebattles, then maybe head to an event and try make the brackets.
MLG redefines the term "get good". -

Good point.
I would never spend that amount of time though, some of the real good COD4 players spend hours and hours playing weekly. I'm not even sure if they get paid that much? -
Most professional gamers are young kids or guys in college.
I mean, once you GET at that level, you don't play nearly as much. I used to play CF all day, now I play for no more than three or four hours.
Besides, its better for you to play at your top level for a short period of time then to play all day and wear yourself out. -

WCG was over in China, and Cross Fire is HUGE in China.MyNameisTim wrote: »yeah thatt would be way to time consuming, i love games but its good to have a life outside of them too. i agree with bruce too, once i reached 2nd LT my playing time went down to like 2-3 hours a day
Talking about skill, not rank.dont even try to get on top level..that is my advice
ps.no cs,cs:s or quake= not that 1337 league
Terrible advice. Gaming is the most competitive thing out there. No matter how old/young. Missing a leg, eye, whatever.
You can't decide at 23 years of age that you're going to get up and play in the NBA at 25. But you can sure as hell decide that you're going to play Quake for a few hours a day after work and gradually get better and better. -

Dunno how you can say its terrible advice as its only my opinion..everyone feels difrently about gaming.
Playing on highest level on big game dont work like that for almost anyone. If you want to get on highest level you need to do huge amount of work to get there not just 2 hours after work. -

All games have a learning curve.
cs1.6 has been out for what? 11 years? 2 hours a day for 11 years... yeah, you are going to be a good player. -

When you first start, the more time you spend on a game, the more skill you will gain. But after a while it doesn't matter. Every person is different. A person playing CF for 5 months and who plays like 2 hours a day can be better than a person that's played CF for 9 months who plays 4 hours a day. Time does not equal skill once you understand the game well. -
