  • Does it make it quiet or completely turn it off?

Because there is an option to stop it from making everything else quiet when someone talks.

naw it doesnt just make it quiet. I still hear footsteps comming, it just plays in both ears. I cant tell what direction its comming from, only how close it is judging by the loudness of the step.
  • Check your audio settings.

Start > Control Panel > Sound > Playback tab (upper left) > Double click "Headphones" > Go to 'Enhancement tab' and click 'DISABLE ALL ENHANCEMENTS' then click ok, then ok again. (You can also try going to Advanced near Enhancements and turning the format to the max quality [studio quality] )

You might stop hearing things on certain programs, it's fine.. just close them off and open them again (if it persists, reboot.)

    Good luck.
