Pin pointing basics is...
1. Look left and right and see if you hear any breathe.
2. Once you hear something strong in one ear, turn your crosshairs in that direction until the sounds is equal in both ears
3. The person is right in front of you. (if not, he's above/below you)
4. Shoot and kill -

This is probably the simpliest and most helpful videos that I've found for pinpointing. There is no sound but it captures what it's like to pinpoint visually. Practice in a 1v1 with a friend doing the same thing that the guy is doing in the video. -

Wow very simple yet teaches the most basics of pp...nice -
The headset does the job, not you. If you use a fitting headset (not an expensive gam0r 1337 headset) then you will simply walk around and directly shoot at ghosts. From my personal expierence I can tell that the more expensive headsets have a stronger bass. Every headset with this characteristic is useless for gm no matter what equalizer setting you are going to use.
I recommend the Sennheiser PC131. I am not sure if this headset is available in your country.
I don't have any information about your headset but when you are asking for a pp tutorial I guess it does not fit. -
The only problem is how long he took to find them, when they are so close to him -.-...

If you hear the ghost in your right ear only the ghost is to the right.
If you hear the ghost in your left ear only the ghost is to the left.
If you hear the ghost in both ears equally the ghost is right there in front of you.
As for getting better you will need to practice, you may hear a ghost in both ears for example but faintly then he is further away, so just learn the distance by playing.
