XTrap False Bans - January 25

Attention all legitimate Cross Fire players!

Over the recent weeks you all may have noticed that XTrap has been updating quite frequently in an attempt to stop many of the hacks that are available from entering in to our game.

XTrap has been doing a great job at this, however yesterday (January 25) XTrap was detecting a dll file that is a legitimate file associated with the game.

As a result XTrap had issued bans for a small portion of the game population. These bans were listed for hacking but the players were CLEARLY NOT HACKING.

XTrap gives us plenty of information about the type of hack that was being used, and the files associated with the hack when it issues a ban. This is how we are confident in our auto detect system. But in the aggressive work to get rid of hacks and hackers this issue was caused.

We have reversed the bans on these affected accounts. The log of this particular block will also be removed.

This means that the Honorable Soldier ribbon will be restored to those who have never had a previous block history. In the event that this does not refresh and show back up on the account please contact support.

Please note that the bans have now been reversed, however the ribbons will take some additional time to show up and may require you to refresh your clan page over the next 24 hours.

XTrap continues to be the best system we have for removing hacks and hackers and we continue to work with the developers and XTrap to get updated hacks. Look for some more information on the anti-hacking situation coming soon from us!
