Honestly, one thing that never fail at mid ranges is spraying 4 bullets to the neck.
The recoil pattern for the first 4 bullets is right above the first shot.
One of them will surely hit the head. And since shoulders are such a reference, you won't miss.

You got this all wrong, doubleclick with the m4, fast at the head,neck you need to pre-aim
if they miss then tap 4 bullets because bursting will miss and chances are it will get you kiled - 4 years of cf
Keep this in mind, by headshotting you have less chance of getting killed and you can survive for longer periods of time.
Since we are at it, it is good to get your strafes down , move 2 steps each side, stop shortly to fire, on the enemy screen you are still in motion even when stopped. Hope this helps
