Vista Home Basic to XP Professional-Good or bad idea?

I stopped playing CF because with vista load times were huge(especially in the 1st game of the day), but now, load times are fast and I don't get lag at the beginning on games.
Now to see if I can find the good side of the CF community to play with(doubt it).
