Thoughts on ESG

The reason the Chinese are better then the top NA teams has nothing to do with the guns they use.

Im breaking this down into a couple of sections to show the idiocy of what were fighting over.

Pulleus, you are contradicting yourself saying that not allowing guns is limiting our ability to play, but then you say none of the guns that we banned are op, and many have the same stats as the guns we allow. If that's the case, how is banning one version of it hampering our play? If the guns fire at the same level, does it actually matter which one we use?

In the case of the Spops, I really don't care if they have the same "hitboxes" or not, nor about the psychological effect. This has more to do with the professional look of the game and league. If we were watching/playing a casted match, how professional does the league look if there is half naked anorexic chicks running around? If I had just happened to come across a cast of a league match on a game I don't play and saw that, it would totally put me off playing that game.

With the aspect of why the Chinese are better then the North Americans, is basically the same reason that the Europeans kick our ass in counter strike, and the Koreans dominate us in LoL and Starcraft.

It's because they care more about the game, have more support on it, more leagues, better atmosphere. Whereas in our version of cf anytime someone loses a scrim they don't try to see why they lost it, nor what they did wrong. They take it as "oh it's just a scrim, scrims don't matter, we'll crush them in a league match". How can we begin to actually compete on a serious level if things like having a set practice time is looked down upon? Or watching replay's to see other teams strats/what your team is doing wrong? How can we compete with them if we call each other nerds for running a practice for 2 hours?

why we, the North American's, get wrecked in crossfire, its a far simpler answer then "they don't ban guns, so they get better aim" thing that some of you think is the reason. It's all because they care more, they will sit and practice a set nade for two hours until they get it spot on. If we did that in our version, people would sit and laugh.

Instead of bickering over the rule-set. Why don't you try and resolve the many more and way more serious problems that are hampering our community? Let's try to make our leagues more professional, let's foster the competitive atmosphere and look up to the teams who run practices, who strive to get better, who look at scrims as more then a way to kill time until a match. Let's attempt to fix the random room crashes, the random dc's, and the client errors that make so many people quit this game competitively. Let's make our casted matches better, let's actually show some attempt at making them look good, instead of having nades that scream pikachu, or having the shout-caster berate one of the players.

This is what you should be attempting to fix, not a rule-set.

    I have immunity.
  • Lol dude I was just thinking to myself "maybe he should repost this so that people can read it".

Right on it boss, we will get our highly skilled team of coder we are paying millions of millions of dimes to recode Crossfire and fix all of the bugs.

Oh while we are at it we will be donating to the "pony for every player of ESG fund" to ensure that everyone who participates gets their very own pony.

OH and if we get LOTS of people we might even get everyone their own UNICORN.

    Wouldn't that be AWESOME?

I'm monitoring this thread for potential lulz.

On a side note aren't you one of those people who says "LOL i don't care what people think on the internet" when they get attacked or whatever? Just curious because you seem to get a little upset if anyone laughs at you for practicing.

Remind me again why it matters what other people think about your practice or habits?

CARRY ON CARRY ON, NOTHING REALLY MATTERS

anyways, harshly said in my opinion, it's not that americans don't "care" about the game, it's more like they're generally too stupid to care. if you don't even want to take the time to think of a way to counter things you're definitely going to encounter you're just a complete idiot. some teams don't specifically need it but most teams really do.

his opinion is the only one that matters, he is currently the only one good enough to beat the Chinese.

    Let's hear it from Klu7chKiller

I think his name was polleus.

just L2aim already. You want to be part of the best of the best. So you wil have to be able to land that shot anyway.

With the aspect of why the Chinese are better then the North Americans, is basically the same reason that the Europeans kick our ass in counter strike, and the Koreans dominate us in LoL and Starcraft.

    Better communities.

Because good sportsmanship is non-existent on the internet.

why we, the North American's, get wrecked in crossfire, its a far simpler answer then "they don't ban guns, so they get better aim" thing that some of you think is the reason. This might have something to do with the amount of time you waste when everything does not work out exactly as you planned it.

This comunity is broken to a point where it's beyond repair, people have proved that they are not open to a dynamic environment. I guess you just have to learn to live with that.

Let's attempt to fix the random room crashes, the random dc's, and the client errors that make so many people quit this game competitively. sounds like something a league should fix, i mean seriously they develop this game...

This is what you should be attempting to fix, not a rule-set.

no rule-set is fixed, they made a new one. Fixing it would imply that they first had a broken rule-set and applied a certain amount of changes to benefit gameplay.

i just felt like doing this.
  • is bumping against the rules? Deal with it.
  • Unless your doop/denxi/tasty people don't care about "more serious" topics.

A big thing about being in North America is that we are separated because of ping, oceans, and the like. Europe and Asia just have a bigger selection of people that play against each other. Obviously as people learn they constantly overcome other people, teams, strategies - constant cycle. We can't tap into that potential unless we practice hard, travel, watch demos, read articles, etc.

    NAW'MEAN?
  • And I missed the point of the topic...

I can agree to just having a standard set of rules to get people accustomed to the international events. If the big LAN events have, on average, a standard set of rules that limits things in the game then just go with that instead of making custom rules.

I also agree about all the random models they are coming out with. It makes the game look terrible as seen by some old WEM video that I don't have the link too. I'll never agree to any other models then the standard three GP models. Half naked girls and CIA types don't fit in the profile.
  • Also people need to watch demo's and do some reading. It's the only way to get better at this point since nobody makes enough good instructional videos or articles. Material designed for other games works just as good a lot of times. It's better then sitting around and being terrible.
  • hmm I see your point but still a scrim really is just a scrim , I mean if you lose in a scrim its not that big of a deal , sometimes in scrim ppl dont really try hard , sometimes they just want to relax you know ? not too intense. I think the Chinese or the Vietnamese etc are better than NA because they actually have leagues alot and ran by their company. I played CF VN so I know , they have leagues through-out the year with " real " prizes like money + guns and items not just some stupid GP or ZP crates. The Vietnamese called it CF Leagues ( CFL) , when a CFL ended 2 weeks later you will have another CFL with prizes so as you can see through out the year there will always a league for competitive players and it ran by the admin , you will have a admin in every room spectating =) so very legit. That just my opinion , MORE LEAGUES COME ON Z8 !!! AT LEAST THE COMPANY IN VIETNAM THEY RELEASED LOTS OF ZP GUNS BUT THEY ACTUALLY CARE ABT THE COMPETITIVE SIDE !
P/S : so if you attempt to cheats in this league , instant banned account :) not just Dqed or banned for 30 days or warning like z8. When you caught cheat in CFVN not just in leagues but in normal pub room , you have evidence , instant banned forever , no begging or excuses at all lol.
