CrossFire not Opening, Possibly a GG/Registry Issue. Help Please.

Basically, I've been having the same problems as most of the other people posting in the 'Technical Support' section, however they don't say what they mean and think before they type, so as a result, I am having to waste my first post on this.

Basically, I've downloaded Cross Fire twice, once from the official mirror, and after that it wouldn't install, so I downloaded it from a mirror site as suggested in one of the other support threads and now im passed that problem.

Now, however when I attempt to open Crossfire, I get the introduction screen with the 'Announcements' on it etc, however when I click 'Start Game' I get a small white box with the 'Ok' button in the bottom of it. I click the 'Ok' button and it takes me to the nProtect Gamegaurd website (http://www.gameguard.co.kr/gameguard/faq/eng/FAQ_115.htm) and it talks about a Redundant Execution error.

Anyway, I believe its a Registry error, but I don't want to delete parts of the Registry that I shouldn't delete so if anyone has a solution or work-around it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much.

  • You can try it with this Solution:
Ensure, that Crossfire.exe, cf_patcher.exe, gameguard.des and gameguard.mon files got full access through your firewall and add a Excception into your Antivirus program, that the above named files wont get blocked by your Antivirus program.
If you got Windows Vista / Windows 7, run the Gamestart as Administrator.
