Breath Down, Ghost Mode Menace.

Sorry, but that is as wrong as the earth is a plate. It is much easier to play with breathdown and will most likely double your kd. There is a bunch of situations where it makes the difference.Breath-down is about as useful as armor is. The chances of it making a difference is slim to none, unless you are playing with sprayers and runners. A good Global Risk team equipped with suppressed rifles, headphones and pin-pointing skills has no problem overcoming the minor advantage that breath-down gives. Its bunny-hopping that allows a ghost to get the drop on pin-pointers, and not breath-down.
Same with bulletproof. My KDR in pubs and scrims dropped by 0.3 after Bp became a free item. I cannot kill with a headshot and it's even worse. Sometimes I need 3 hits including headshots cause a headshot does less than 80 damage. If I don't aim properly I need up to 7 hits.
It is like there is an lagger in the oponent's team. If you are really good you will have the disadvtage. While you keep shooting at the lagger you are an easy target for other oponents you could have easily killed when the lagger would have a normal ping. -

ya.. i shot a ghost in head i counted 4 times with me m16 and did like.. 99 damage... ive hit a one shot with m16 b4. back of the head -
I am a gm only player and I use bdown when I knife as do all the experienced gm'rs although they won't admit it. Bdown does not make things uneven if it is not paired up with shovel, kris or kukri. As a great gm'r once said "If you can pp then bdown ain't a problem."

it is a problem when they BDBH and rush you from behind... read any of the preceding posts? -

sound familiar? ya it is.. it is the last sentance of my body paragraph.. i specifically said "bhopping Breath Downer"It took me about a month to figure out my breath-down had expired. That's how much of a difference it made.
Advanced hearing? What will that do? Make all the sounds in the game louder? Doesn't turning up the volume already do that?Sorry, but that is as wrong as the earth is a plate. Breath-down makes it a lot easier for noobs to play, and maybe double their KDR from 1 to maybe 2 or 3 kills. However, bunny hopping is where the real advantage lies, and it does not require breath-down to make it any better. Because breath-down or no breath-down, by the time you hear a bunnyhopper's breath, he has already put you into his kill-zone.
And I don't know what kind of weapon you use (probably some dull butter knife), but at best, a guy wearing armor will require 1 more bullet that usual to kill. -

infact yes.. it will make it louder.. to be honest crossfire sound sucks.. they put a cap on how much sound comes out.. at max without this cap i would probably not be complaining at all.. i got headphones (beats) and i listened to crossfire first. i wanted to take them back because i thought they were disfunctional. then i come to learn that they play other sound fine.. easy to tell that crossfire limits the output in this situation -

you must be hearing impaired or at least have headphones so crappy that they dont even make it to the sound cap.. i can tell if i have breath down even though i have barely used it at all... -

If I put my speakers on full, my neighbors come knocking at my door, complaining about the racket. And my closest neighbor lives about a 100 yards away. I actually have to turn my volume down to 20% to keep the cops at bay, and I still manage to pin point just fine. Even without the use of headphones.somekiller34 wrote: »you must be hearing impaired or at least have headphones so crappy that they dont even make it to the sound cap.. i can tell if i have breath down even though i have barely used it at all...Its more likely that you're the one who is hearing-impaired, considering you're the one complaining about breath-down messing up your game, despite your use of headphones, and discovering some kind of sound cap.

-_- no wonder you cant tell the difference... gotta have headphones... speakers sound scratchy.. they are louder.. but they sound like crap.. get headphones and see if yo tell the difference... or just turn them down to 10% and strap them to your ears

It seems like you are talking about ghosts who attack nooby GRs in open squares like the Laboratory GR spawn or the middle in Biofacility. However that is only a best case scenario and smart GRs will avoid these places. Breathdown enormously helps when you are attacking GR on ramps or in vents. However, bunny hopping is where the real advantage lies, and it does not require breath-down to make it any better. By the way, I use an M4CC with axe. I wonder that we haven't met ingame yet. Are you a US player? -

only if they did the same thing to quick defuse expand grenade and others would i ever agree to that -
It's not possible to cap how loud a game gets...... And louder doesn't help at all, the range you hear breath doesn't change with higher sound, so anyone blowing their ears out thinking it helps really needs to stop..
ya.. but they do cap sounds.. get 10 dollar headphones and 50 dollar headphones and there is no sound difference.. -

Why would I need them? I can pin-point people with breath-down without the use of headphones and with my volume at 20%. And here you are complaining about breath-down users, because you can't even hear them properly with headphones and volume at full.It seems like you are talking about ghosts who attack nooby GRs in open squares like the Laboratory GR spawn or the middle in Biofacility. By the way, I use an M4CC with axe. I wonder that we haven't met ingame yet. Are you a US player?A smart ghost avoids vents like the plague, because there is no room in them to bunny hop. He only uses them if its save to do so, and then breath-down will make no difference. To crawl into a vent with a GR inside, is suicide, even with breath down. The only scenario I can think of where breath-down actually comes in handy, is when some noob lost the C4 in the far side vent near B-site in Laboratory, when you need to quickly crawl in the back to kill the camping GR guarding it. And even in that scenario it requires a bit of luck of him not expecting you coming at him from that way.
And, no. I strictly play on UK4.somekiller34 wrote: »ya.. but they do cap sounds.. get 10 dollar headphones and 50 dollar headphones and there is no sound difference..It's more likely that you need to replace your soundcard. -
The only difference between the 50$ and 10$ headphones would be sound quality, very rarely does it give more sound. The game gives left and right (stereo) sound and better headsets don't help because the game doesn't support anything more.somekiller34 wrote: »ya.. but they do cap sounds.. get 10 dollar headphones and 50 dollar headphones and there is no sound difference..
If you're so desperate for more sound, go to your windows settings and crank up the settings. There's no way for the game to stop you from making it louder. But I'll say it again, loud sound won't help at all, the distance you hear breath is the same either way. It's more likely that you need to replace your soundcard.
lol, this might be true... -
no.. up to date soundcard.. good headphones.. ima actually try to strap speakers to my earsThe only difference between the 50$ and 10$ headphones would be sound quality, very rarely does it give more sound. and btw, I think that is worst to play with team mates spraying all the time with ak's, rpk's, m12's, wtv than face some ghosts with breath down.
You forgot when they had the event where the FN mini was a reward....
let's all bring it to GM and never let off the trigger -
Your 'tests' mean nothing unless you played the same exact oponents and the exact same amount of games. Which you didnt (its obvious).
Breathdown is good... end of.... I'm a GR player myself and without bdown GM is just far too easy in my opinion.
But I have to disagree with lolli... I do believe bdown does give an advantage used along with bhopping. I hear bhoppers without bdown just fine but its slightly harder when they do use bdown....
The only people I see complaining about bdown are the people who shouldnt be playing GM at all.... I, as a GR player, cannot even tell the difference when im shooting at a ghost if he has bdown or not.... until I kill him and see how far away he was. But most of the people i play with use bdown so it is rare that i see someone without bdown and I top frag most games i play... So clearly we can hear bdown even when they bhop just so you know. If you are having trouble hearing the ghost dont blame bdown - blame your own equipment - sound card and headphones, if your sound card or headphones suck your pretty much screwed
