The SCAR Heavy - Any Tips?

I am interested in getting a SCAR Heavy instead of a SCAR Light. I like both guns though I feel much more confident using a SCAR Heavy instead of the SCAR Light. I've come to love this gun and find it very useful when crouch firing like the M4A1 and SG552, and I enjoy the power, accuracy and the recoil pattern. I acknowledge that it has the slowest firing rate out of all rifles and also a long reload time, but I still like it when I pick it up, and have regretted getting the Steyr AUG A1 instead of it. So is there anything more I should know before I get this rifle?

  • its heavy:P and aa bitt browny^^ (scar light is better:O)
  • Use single shots, treat it like an AK-47. It has superb accuracy, but it's recoil is too much. Close up it is great, but long reload times. AK-47 beats it by comparison except for accuracy.
Scar Light works better in just about every single way. However, the Scar H can out shoot it at long range using single shots due to it's greater accuracy and damage. But that's about all, even in the hands of an expert the Scar H isn't very challenging against good AK-47 or Scar L users. Even the newer Type 89 can beat it in many situations. And in close range combat, a G36K can easily beat it.
You mainly just have to use good strategy to give you an edge, like whip out a grenade to damage them and then one shot kill the enemy. Make sure you have a good pistol for backup too.

Thanks for that, I'll probably get a finisher gun to go with it like the M9 or P228 or Colt once I buy it. I still feel it suits me better than the SCAR Light, I get more strings of kills with it than the SCAR Light.

Try the P228, it has a large clip and it does enough damage that you should be able to finish someone off really quickly if you've already hit him with your Scar H.
The Colt isn't honestly worth it, I wouldn't advise buying it. ;)

  • I used to have a Colt, I liked it as a combination for sniper rifles, though the P228 which I also used to have was awesome with the clip size and acceptable power.
  • The SCAR-H is basically a cross between the M4 and the AK, so treat it as such. It's stable enough to fire short (2-3 round) bursts at range, but don't go more than that.
  • watch out for the reload if you do ever rush.

Pretty much exactly what I was going to say.

I'm not a fan, so my advice would be don't buy it, but if you feel confident that you play really well with it, go ahead.
  • glad to see someone that goes out of the ak,m4,scar light fanclub.

as deadeye stated, you can do 2-3 shot bursts, but dont catch yourself spraying when in danger.

pistol wise, out of those 3, the only one i owned was (and still use) the p228. ive tried the colt, and i cant get a feel for it, and the m9 isnt worth it, ever. the p228 can hold up against a deagle in pistol only, all you gotta do is move.
  • You must be one of those "special person" to perfer a scar heavy over a scar light. :D

The Scar-H ranks below all those guns.

    Trust me.
  • I got ScarH in black market and i loved it.I bought a ScarL thinkin i could do much better but ended up hating it cuz for some reason i feel its recoil like ak47 and i dont get how people manage to spray with it.ScarH you can spray because its pattern is realy easy to control, like m4 but way stronger.
  • I'm an ak47 junky and even I don't like the scar heavy :D

To repeat as stated; do not be the first person in a rush, be middle or take the rear due to it's horrible reload.

Burst fire for distance, but unlike most other guns, try NOT to spray with people close because once your clip is empty you're owned.

In terms of power and capability it really isn't that bad, but the only thing it's "heavy" about is sucking really. Too many negatives compared to it's positives.

Get an ak47, I mean, get a scar light instead :P

Or prove us all wrong and get the heavy and own us.
  • Yeah, the SCAR Heavy is considerably easier to use than the AK47. Even though they both have high recoil the spray pattern in the SCAR Heavy is almost perfectly straight up so I just pull down and I am getting awesome accuracy whilst spraying, unlike the AK47 which jumps to the sides a bit.
