Kill Mark Question.

When you delete the kill marks, a white square shows up when you kill someone in game.

Is there a way to make no kill mark show up? I think it might help me play better if I'm not distracted by kill marks.

If you can take the time to make these, (which sounds really easy) could you please?
Or if you could just explain to me how to do it and how?

Yeah it might be possible to make clear kill marks.

Ya, because when i see pics of people making kill marks, the part in the square that they have to make it in that is not the mark is like white and grey checkered. I was thinking that maybe you could make a mark that is just white and grey checkered so it is clear.

i think he means he doesnt want a kill mark at all, and when he deletes them a white box shows up.


i always thought deleting them would take it away, no problem, but i guess not.

Ok i tested it with just the headshot kill mark, and everytime i got a headshot no mark would come up. I still knew i got a headshot because i could see in the top right hand corner where it tells you kills. Now all i have to do is re-size and rename the file until i have it for every mark then upload it to a filesharing site so you guys can download it, i should be done some time tomorrow.

Simply set the alpha levels of all your marks to 100% and you won't see anything.

Alternatively, you could find BlindRob's little modification. He posted a link to get rid of kill marks/sounds in genereal.

Ok i changed all the kill marks to be invisible, here is the download link for the zip file containing them. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=16LJM2MN

They should work i only tested a few (getting golden wall shots is hard), but if they don't let me know. As for how to install them just unzip the folder then go to mycomputer>C:>programfiles>Subagames>CrossFire>rez>UI>Mark. Then take all the files out of that folder move them to another folder somewhere on you computer so you have them backed up, then place the files of the zip folder into the now empty "mark" folder.


Note:I have a old install so if you installed the game more recently you folder might not be named "Subagames", it might be named something like "Z8".

if u are looking to blame poor gaming ability on the kill marks that occupy less then 1% of your screen... feel free.... but if i were you i would go back to playing duck hunt while standing 12 inches away from the screen.

i dont apologize for being an ass. (and in all honesty, i am one) Just know this, one cant spend his life being an ass and get hurt by poor attempts to make him feel bad... So ether try harder or dont try at all.


My initial comment had value and weight. If u blame the kill symbols for distracting you in game and there for lowering your in game performance... you are just looking for ANY thing to blame for your lake of skill... I bet you say things like "i was reloading"/ "damn reload" when you die alot too...

Way to jump to conclusions RendoRazor, with all due respect your not so good yourself so I wouldn't be talking down on people if I were you.

I play without those symbols and sound clips because I prefer to not have killstreaks being counted while I play. I prefer to get a glimpse at the upper-left corner to see how many I killed not to have popups, it's all preference.
