Need Sniper Advice! Not noob basics...

I recently took sniping back up. Been loving my awm all over again. Played over 16 hours this last weekend. Mostly SnD

My Strong Points:
-Aiming at bodies (Head's give me issues)(that's what she said)
-Long and Medium range shots
-Predicting and peeking out and shooting first (like a chammer)
-Close Range scoped kills (Only if i hear them comming)
-Good Reaction

My Weak Points:
-Quick Scoping
-Hitting Jumpers(mostly other snipers jumping out to snipe me)
-Counter Sniping when other snipers know you're there (I believe this is lagg because i always peek then leap away, then die behind a wall)
-Killing GOOD Riflers who aim fast (i always shoot right when they hit me, so my crosshair goes up and the bullets miss, then i die)
+Any other sniper tips i should know about


Basically, i'm good with the typical awm + deagle combo especially on Desert Storm. I can predict for sure, I can aim quickly most of the time, and I can usually land my hits.

Now, you pro snipers out there ( I know you're reading this topic, remember i has the prediction skill), PLEASEEE Help me get better at sniping. All advice that doesn't include noob basics is appreciated.

when hitting jumpers, find their name by putting yur crossheir over them, find their name, what i do is quickly check their ping and see if i should knife them or snipe them, i knife the highpingers and snipe the low pingers, you should only do this if yur really skilled

This might be noob advice but oh well...

Instead of runing or walkin try moving wile you crouch,most of the time they will hit you in legs or head lol But yep it does work alot,A friend told me about that and im surprised it works most of the time.

Another one is moving and jumping with your knife untill he reloads than you take out your sniper and you kill him.It does kinda work in cqc combat.

As for riflers who move your crosshair well just run away and hide somewere else cuz is a sure loss most of the time.Never face a rifler straight on,if you miss, run (oviously)

Well sniping is mostly based on reactions and smart thinking.

Some adivce on the ones who also sniper and jump, you just have to aim at them n try to kill them if they jump move you're crosshire to where they will land then instantly shoot 9/10 times you'll kill them.

Tip for quick scoping, just get the enemy in the middle of you're screen where you think you're zoom crosshire will be and zoom in n almost at the same time hit shoot.

Now for the rilfe users you have to be quick, getting the first shot in unseen can also help and if you feel it helps you can switch to knife n quickly back to you're awm and scope in again, i personaly just leave it scoped in or quickly scope out while jumping or going to hide.

Again with other snipers it all about reactions and getting the first shot and if you miss jump to the side instantly after you're shot. ( takes some pratice but it helps alot ) Also some people jump instantly after a shot and the bullet sometimes does not go on target if you can train you're self to jump like .3-.5 of a second to jump after the shot you'll be hitting alot more targets.

As for aiming for the head, just keep going for body shots with the awm till you're hitting most if not all of you're targets then do what i did and switch to the m700( sounds crazy i know but awming helps with m700ing)

As for m700ing quick scoping just got a little harder but its still do-able you jsut have to aim at the head or scope in n aim at the head, its quiet easy when you get the hang of it.

And overall who dont like owning awm'ers with a m700

But stick with awm till you feel you want to move on to the m700 if you even want to :P

I was not aware of that. Usually i dont jump, but i do move, so that would explain the 80's i've been hitting.

Is m700 really that good? its a nice 2shot kill sniper. Quick movement, quick scope. But... realistically, would you use it in a scrim lol.

Also, keeping calm in situations with 3 rifles on you is hard. I usually panic and end up only getting 1 or 2 of the people then dying.
But.. on the other hand, i can chain kills really easily. If the enemies come in a single file line, i can most of the time get them all without too much trouble.

Advice for panic?

shoot before you aim, and they will both happen around same time


Right as you begin to flick your mouse press mouse1. The crosshair will get on the player around the same time the bullet is fired, this really speeds up your shots

buy a fine tip sharpie and put a dot in the center of your screen. after awhile you will be able to move away from the dot cause you know where your scope is at.

when they jump try to aim for their neck, and predict the peak of their jump. it really just takes awhile to get used to, biggest problem is you will leg them most of the time. if you see your bullet hits switch to deagle and shoot them once in the stomach

just vary your spots and angles, instead of jumping away sometimes try to jump through. i find that when i jump away i die just because of lag, but sometimes i can jump past and then get a second shot off

but yea mostly there is no option, if you miss you die cause of lag

constantly adjust your angle and possibly use smoke to draw there attention to an area yo u are not at

Move your crosshair horizontally not vertically when facing jumpers because it's rare that they'll land a hit on you in the air. So as soon as they come down from jumping snipe their ass before they have time to get you.

You could also download a crosshair that stays on your screen, but don't get suckered in because those crosshairs are usually on hacking websites.

Ahh, flick shots, almost forgot about that. Yup, i do it accidently sometimes. I'll click but realized i might miss, and quickly move my cursor over the enemy again for the next shot, but end up killing them .

Any good way to practice that? And how much time do you have between the click and having your cursor on your target?

I'm trying to avoid the drawn dot thing, but i might try it.

Jumpers, yup, usually only can hit them when they land.

Counter sniping, yup i figured... oh well...

Riflers, I try to when possible, but at some places on maps, you can' get very far without them gunning you down from a medium range.

Another person who supports practicing with m700, maybe i will try it

i was trying to joke but ya tape. it worked back when warrock was decent enough to play... and no i don't suggest getting paint drawn crosshairs. it's a 3rd party program whether it is a part of a hack or not.

i find jumpers easy to kill. I just aim for their nuts as they reach the peak so when i shoot it hits their chest as they fall.

i think, the best way to be a god sniper is....yours.

ask others how to improve, practise a lot, play billions of games,
know the maps, watch replays of good sniper-dudes, if u die watch what the best in your team is doing, be creative and surprise others with variations.

not especially for snipers, but that makes the difference and we will hate u.

only problem with letting them land is they can shoot back when they land, but when they are in the air they are defenseless

When dealing with jumpers, the best option is to shoot them when they land, it's what I do and it's easy. There's also flick shot for dealing with riflers and snipers.

when they land they can shoot back, and with the scarlight your pretty much dead cause the first shot is gonna bump your crosshair

Play sniper only matches with awm or m700.

Note you can be kicked if you do better than the awm'ers with m700.

I have 1 question when the AWM is at 1 bullet left I reload but if I switch to Deagle or Knife

after I press reload when I go back to it the AWM is still at 1 bullet

This is the case with all my guns but someone said switch to knife during reload

Any answers?
