I was raised on the Roller Coaster Tycoon, *****.

Iirc, GunZ was so craptastic that I had it installed for a total time of 10 minutes or so.

I wouldn't know actually, I don't download or buy games with horrible peer reviews (Yes, I research games before I get them.) and I don't just read one then go buy it, I wait a bit for more information.

Scribblenauts got an 8.0 on Gamespot, with an 8.2 average user score. Buying a game based solely on its reviews is generally a bad idea.

I see Game Informer and the like as a relative measure, and I actually read each part of the review, regardless of the score.

Also, I ask people I know who got the game of their opinions of it, and what's good/bad about it.

It is a bad idea to just look at score alone, you need to learn as much as possible about it before wasting your money.
