Aves89 is his CROSSFIRE name, not his xFire. They only previewed the 100 random xFire names drawn. CrossFire in general prizes were previewed for their IGN's. -

And for those who assume the top 26 are all from North America I'll break it down for you to prove otherwise. (please don't assume next time)
16 from USA
1 from UK
1 from Canada
8 from EU
We are still waiting on confirmation of everyone's address for the top 100 but from basic IP information we suspect it looks something like this
50% from NA (USA/CAN)
20% from BR
20% from EU
10% from UK
And for the rest who might be wondering, each players hours was checked by both xfire and z8games to confirm actual play time. We checked everything from number of games played vs number of hours online. For example a player was disqualified if they had over X number of hours played and under Y number of games played. It would be impossible to play 500 hours and only play 12 games over the course of the two week comp.
Additionally the 100 winners were randomly drawn from the pool of contest entrants.
btw EU as in European Union , so ... According to Z8 the united kingdom is not an european country ... Hum For all of you kids with Geography , Please right this on your Tests / Exams please and remenber , Z8 is always right (except with hackers , and most obviously RIPPING OFF CoD Black ops ) oh n btw you guys should buy punkbuster srsly im sick and tired of been called hacker i mean i contributted over 1000 € for your growth isnt that enough for a Decent Anti-Cheating program ? or do like AVA let Steam handle the heat , since prooven you cant ...
oh , n btw im mad :>

Aves89, I was watching him throughout the contest, had over 190+ with his gf that helped him. Solid job by him and his gf though to get that many hours. Even though it is technically cheating, he did well to get that many. Unfortunately validating e-mails went to junk folders so persons didn't respond in time to validate themselves as winners. I hope that X-fire performs better in future contests unlike overall incompetency of this contest. Messages should have been sent to crossfire accounts directly, not email. Rules should have been better stated at start, including multiple users on once account, idling or macro keys to give the appearance of playing, etc. A better sorting of winners would have been nice, not to mention quicker results tabbing. It makes one look a bit unprofessional to say it will take a few weeks to tabulate when it actually took 1 1/2 months. Congrats to the winners.
