How to backup your Crossfire files?

It is very useful to have your CF folder backed. If you get a download error when a new patch is released then you can just use your backup instead of reinstalling the whole game. I use it since half a year and it always helped yet.

1. Browse to your Crossfire folder. It is normally placed in

C:\Program Files\Z8games\

or

C:\Program Files (x86)\Z8games\

2. Now you have to decide for backup methode. If you don't want to compress the files then you can simply select the Crossfire folder and copy and paste it (CTRL + C and STRG + V). So you will get a second folder named "Crossfire - copy". You can skip the step 2b if you choose this methode.

2.b) If you want to compress the files then you have to right click the Crossfire folder and either choose send to > zip compressed folder or winrar > add to Crossfire.rar. It might take a while.

3. Now you are done but there is something missing. How to use the backups? Nothing simpler than that. Just delete the original Crossfire folder and after rename the "Crossfire - copy" folder into Crossfire or just unpack the Crossfire.zip respectively the Crossfire.rar if you used the 2nd methode. You have to right click it and choose unpack.

Now run Crossfire and enjoy Btw I recommend to replace the backup every time after you patched succesfully.
