crossfire will not start

this is the first time iv had this problem.

basicly what happens is i open cf and nothing loads gg starts about 5 min later but thats it.

iv had this problem since i formatted my pc today because some thing crashed so i had to.

also since i downloaded avg 9.0 ages ago, when ever i started cf for the first time it would take like 10 min to load come up with some avg thing has stoped working would you like to close it. i say yes reload cf and it works. but since i formatted my pc nothing is working. i have updated everything anyways.

if anyone could help it would be cool

GET RID OF AVG AND GET ANTIVIR!!!!!!

avg sucks and by the sounds of it, its blocking gameguard

Did you update all your drivers after you formatted your PC?

Try running Cross Fire as admin.

Try running CF with admin rights.

Try restoring your computer to a previous state using System Restore.

If that dosent work:

Uninstall Crossfire, Scan your computer for "Malware/Spyware" either with your antivirus program or a specialised program such as "MalwareBytes" or "Super antispyware".

All you have done that, restart computer, try installing a fresh copy of Crossfire.

Do this step below.. worked for me before i got this ***ing windows 7...:
1. Uninstall AVG Fully.
2. Restart! <-- very important.
3. Enjoy cf.
4. Thanks for reading.

AVG is the problem, i just DLd AVG 9 now CF wont work

Yeah i have the exact problem. I also have AVG 9.0 >.>
is there another way, so you dont have to delete it:D

Add a Exception into AVG, that it wont block Crossfire's Applications.
For the Exception add crossfire.exe, cf_patcher.exe, gameguard.des and gameguard.mon - then Crossfire should probably work :rolleyes:

wow.. ok so i did everything i deleted all my anti viruses and such i reinstalled the game i updated all my drivers and such and still my computer keeps restarting ok and i went into the crossfire file and i found out that when i opened up the Patcher.exe that restarted my computer also im guessing thats whats causing the trouble
