Type89 is nice, but cant really compare with xm8.

i have used both guns the xm8 is much much better.
it is a great all around gun but it shines the most when you want to snipe..has a very fast reload time great power .
type 89 is a good gun but the reload is way to slow..
For gm and tdm only you might think about trying gk36 or scar lt or m4

XM8 is so much better. type is a really ugly gun with a reload that takes AGES and a annoying sound lol. Oh and without a scope.

''expert'' opinion

Well, since i have and have had both guns for a while now, i should be somewhat of a little expert on them: The XM8 first, its a really accurate gun, what with the scope and all, its kind of light but not really a powerpuncher. The typerifle (:P) on the other hand is VERY powerful, and accurate, BUT heavy as a freaking horse. The reload rate on the type is, as mentioned, slow, the XM8 is faster. so, in conclusion, the XM8 maybe a tiny bit better, but nothing beats the feeling of cruising around on ship with the type and sniping. (both weapons are INCREDIBLY accurate and powerful, AWM users prepare to get pwned!)

LOL TYPE 89 IS UGLY? the xm8 is futuristic and so is the type 89 imo id go with the type89 since its the EXACT same thing except slightly lower power and more accuracy/burst ability the xm8 scope is beast but after using the m4custom's scope you feel as the xm8 scope is poor xm8 will get boring type 89 wont type all the way

I'd go with the XM8. The Type 89 just doesn't have enough power.

For people that say XM8 is not accurate must be out of his right mind.I spray all the way with this gun and get multikills like crazy.Power its superb and spray pattern is super easy to control and recoil is like mp5.For me XM8 is the best weapon in crossfire,Ill get it soon enough.

err i prefere the xm8 just because it has laser dot site..other than that..yea i like the type89, its slow but its power isnt TOO TOOOOO bad, but g36k is still FTW (: LOL
