Setting Up your Graphic EQ for GM 2.0
Welcome
This is my 2nd version of Setting up a Graphic equalizer for ghost mode. In this guide we will re-attempt to organize my old thread and to dispel some myths about ghost mode.
For those of you who don't know......
Based on a 10-band graphic equalizer, Ghost breath is played back most strongly as a true bass frequency(31Hz-125Hz), and is heard at smaller intervals at mid bass(250Hz-1kHz, mid treble(2kHz-8kHz, and not at all at the true treble frequencies (16kHz)
There is NO capped limit to the range of breath.
The range of breath can be very well maximized with a stronger audio processor(soundcard) or correct graphic equalizer settings.
Crossfire only supports 2.1 audio, literally making surround sound useless.
Hardware to consider......

Adjusting the Graphic Equalizer......

Even though treble is not responsible for a large amount of breath play back, we wouldn't want to make them go below 0.0 until we get to the 8k function. This reason being is because breath can be make a difference even in small intervals in the 2-8kHz bars. 16kHz is what I like to call true treble, it does not at all make a difference in the ghost's breathing to adjust this bar and it can make gun sounds distracting. I consider 31Hz true bass, this is the interval that I would have maxed out for best performance.
I would have the other bars decreasing over intervals.
If you have any bass boost functions on your equalizer USE THEM. They make a big difference in your audio playback when dealing with ghosts. Try not to have the cuttoff frequency to high because cutoff frequency is a subordinate term to treble.
My Hardware....
Auzentech 7.1 X-fi Forte
eMachine EL1352-43
Turtle Beaches Earforce X11, waiting on HP541TJ's with KICKER™ bass response to be shipped
Dell mouse
Dell Keyboard
Notes......
I doubt these suggestions will make you able to hear bass at farther ranges, it only changes the frequencies at which breath is picked up.It should make a small difference though (maybe 2-3 tiles).
If you want to hear better, then you should invest in some of the hardware I referred to earlier in the guide.
Those are not my settings in the picture.
If you have any other questions leave a comment.
This should help with the Sound Down items also.
If you use this technique with X-Fi audio processors, then you will get a breathing bug every once in a while, which makes breathing able to be heard much further than normal.
Now, if this guide is too plain to read then it's your loss...
Hope this helped you!!! :P

For VATAV:
Since Realtek doesn't show the intervals when you move the bar, I would suggest finding some kind of way to mark off the half length of the entire bar. Measure the Bar's total length and move to the half length of the bar's size. That point is 0.0 dB and I would also suggest that you mark the points by 3. Anything under the point you marked is a negative decibel (i.e. -1.0). You should further divide the points you made by also divided the new bar length in half. The very top of the bar is 12.0 dB, and the half you marked down to is 0.0 dB. Your goal should be to find the 3.0 6.0 9.0 intervals also. BTW the very bottom of the bar is -12.0. Now that I've explained I'll edit a photo of A Realtek Equalizer to show you what I mean. -
can you take a screenshot of your settings?
And your right about those settings pictured being no good, they make ghost breath so quiet that you can barely here them when your next to one.
I'm not on my normal PC at this moment, but I will be Friday. I left a caption in the picture explaining that you shouldn't use the settings in the picture, because in that one the mid-bass is at negative intervals.
We could Teamview that Friday and I'll attempt to help. -

Kinda crappy quality but try this, I'll try to explain with more detail but I have to let my mom use computer not. So after she gets off I'll check back with you and try to explain. As you can see where the notches are set is 0 dB -
Did a comparison between what I think your suggested levels for Realtek are and what I was using before.
Your settings.
My current settings.
I found your settings were about the same on hearing the ghost but they also made gun fire much louder and annoying. With mine I barely notice a pistol being fired and only a few weapons are very loud and annoying. With yours I was getting headaches just from someone spamming a SOCOM. -

Yes, but the intervals are a bit too dynamic in some areas. That means there needs to be more adjusting. I can try adjusting them via teamview for you. -
