Patch file

so i uninstalled cf n downloaded from a different website, and this time while hgw was loading i got a failure to download patch file .inf, which then lead to the socket error. so im assuming if i can find a way to patch the client manualy, i wont get the failure n then i wont get the socket error. does ANYBODY have any ideas? please help
