Shotguns are at their best in GM.
Rifles are good all-rounders.
So do you plan to mostly only play GM or play a lot of other modes as well?
XM1014 or Winchester Scope for dedicated GM play.
G36K for a good all-around Rifle. (comes with a scope for long range, fast fire rate for close range, decent damage, and full wall bang to kill those hiding behind boxes) -

What makes the XM better than the Stakeout or even the Dual desps?
Dual desps aren't too great imo because they can't shoot mid reload which is very
helpful. Please tell me which you prefer and why.

XM1014 has the fastest fire rate of the shotguns. This allows you to kill the target faster if the first shot doesn't kill them. The difference in fire rate can be the difference between killing the ghost and dieing from the ghost.
Dual Desp are good if you want a medium range shotgun due to their tight pellet spray.
But if you wanted medium range Winchester scope would be better for that. Winchester has the same fire rate and around the same damage well firing 1 accurate bullet versus firing 6 spreading pellets that may not all hit.
Stakeout just sucks. It has the same accuracy, damage, and fire rate as Dual Desp.
Nothing about it is better then any of the GP shotguns in any area.
Low ammo, Average Damage, tied for accuracy with Duals, same reload as XM and Spas, Same fire rate as Spas and Duals. Nothing about it stands out.
Spas does the most damage of the shotguns well having a pellet spray between the Duals and XM1014. Basically Spas is the average one with slightly more damage. -

True getting to be able to fire at the head as reliably as Blindrob would not only require massive amount of practice but also natural talent. But Winchester Scope isn't as hard to use as most people think it, its slow fire rate just forces one to make their shots count rather then hold down the fire button and hope for a kill.
If you can kill a ghost reliably in 3-5 shots with a normal rifle then you can kill a ghost with 1 shot with the Winchester scope. -
reccomended guns for each GM map:
first off: only use sniper if you have the skill, same goes as with the winchester
Laboratory- stupidest map ever! ( IMO because a majority of my deaths are by shovel noobs and campers )
Hakenkreuz- any 1 shot gun; other guns are fine too
Lost Relics- LONG range rifles; sometimes the battle is in a small area so on an occation use a shot range gun
Metro- LONG range rifles
Complex- short range rifles -

Laboratory is my favorite map. I can easily get 7 kills in 2 or 3 rounds. Sometimes i can get 21/0. If you know all the pros and cons of the map you'll be pretty much almost invincible.
You can easily kill an shovel too. Once i dodged 10 hits of an shovel and still didn't even get a single HP down. And also killed him/her ^^. -
Thank you VATAV! Getting the XM1014 was one of the best choices i made. I Half the people in the game say i hack. The weird part is i can kill shovels easily but not knifes...
XM1014 is great for GM.
It was the my main weapon for this account from last August to April.
Stopped using it because the quality of ghost players diminished severely and many players were kicking anyone that did way better then them.
I also have trouble with knife wielding ghost if they get close. I can dodge a shovel if I know its coming but hard pressed to dodge a knife. :P -

Yea, the +4 Ammo and reload is much more useful.
It has the same reload, but one reloads 6 rounds while the adv version reloads 10 rounds. -

Against a good BL player you don´t have the required time to reload and kill.
XM-1014 however lets you keep shooting till you run out of ammo. -

True....Jackhammer Gets You Killed When You Reload, Same With Despies Xm104Adv Easily Beats Any Other Shotgun At GM
