Incentive for reporting hackers

I believe z8 should make an incentive or reward system for every time you submit/report a video of a hacker.
Maybe the incentive could be: (just an idea)
1st successful report: 100GP
2nd:200GP
3rd:400GP
4th:800GP
5th:1000GP and repeat

This would encourage people to stop being lazy and start serving justice to the unwanted hacks!

  • Good idea. But you how these monkeys are. Takes them years to implement the simplest of features.
  • Like this idea.
    I'd have 450,000 gp

but such good ideas never get taken into perspective
    good idea tho.
  • A good incentive:
The warm fuzzy feeling that comes from doing the right thing.

Don't agree that THIS community deserves any form of an incentive, especially monetary.
  • yes i want hackers to have every single GP crate gun. sounds awesome.

The problem is not the people reporting them, is how long it takes to get them banned from "A OBVIOUS REPLAY of a stw cheater."

That's why its useless and it ain't gonna happen.
  • This is just gonna increase the report system to z8games which is already alot now.If noobs want to report and hope that its true, that would waste much more time for the GMs.

Bad idea, and anyone with an ounce of common sense would see it.

Three parties are biased as soon as a reward is involved, none of which for the better.
    X, reviewer. Y, reportee. Z, reported.
X is going to know Y will get paid for the report if X decided that Z is cheating.
X is going to be biased even if Y isn't someone he knows. He knows that Y is a person, who would be happy with the reward.

Y is going to know that the more he reports, the more likely it is for X to make a bad judgment call, earning Z some GP.

Z can gather 100 friends on alts to cheat, report them all individually on his main and earn lots of GP, putting pressure on the report system for no reason.

So no, bad idea, won't happen.
  • Also, you could join a farming ring. What happens when 2 people report the same person. Do they both get the reward? What if a group of people all post the same reports to get more gp? Every time someone spots a hack, they put the replay up for download.
  • I think it's more than enough of a reward, seeing the people I report, on the ban list. No more incentive needed, for me.
  • or, you know, there could be the incentive of just having less hackers in the game.
  • What about self-report? Ppl would use hack on secondary accs to gain the reward.
  • As if the report system isn't already swamped with false reports already. If they implemented this everybody and their mother would report every single person they see on the off-chance that they hack. A reward based system would only be useful if there was also a punishment for sending in false reports.

And then there's the fact that someone would abuse the system with alts, but other people have already described how that works in detail.

there's easier and faster suggestions that have been made over and over and over and over and over and over and over. So yeah a few times at least. In game mods, who only can temp ban people who Obviously cheat, those jerks who kill everyone from their own spawn aka wall shooters, if we could get rid of most of those that would be a huge start imo. The mod would then upload the replay which would have a high priority as far as being reviewed, then a decision would be made to make the ban permant or not.
  • *incentive.

other than that, ok-ish idea...but thered have to be a cap on the amount, or very soon some people could be getting lots of money, very fast. (some people i know report 5/10 hackers a day - lets say 50% are, so thats 2+ a day...very soon gonna be on lots of free gp...)
  • For me, the best incentive would be if we receive a reply informing the cheater was banned.
Actually we receive nothing and don't know what happens with the cheater's account or if they are watching the replays. It is very easy to Z8 post a simple reply in the tickets like "Account banned". It will take only a little fraction of time they take to watch the replays and for us, we will know that they are watching the replays.
If they are not watching the replays, they can say that the replies will take a big amount of time. It doesn't matter if they watch thousands of replays everyday, they can automate the job to reply. The program to do this will be so easy to implement that I can't believe the developers can't do it. If they insist about the difficulty of doing so, it is better to fire all the programmers and hire some real ones.
  • I actually REALLY like this idea. I mean, in all honesty, I dont really tend to see too many hackers these days, other than the 1 hitters who help me get items in ZM occasionally... * when i jloin a game and theres a hacker, i definitely stay as long as possible)

I think it would be great to get GP for successfully reporting a hacker.

But the downside is, z8games would have to actually REVIEW the report before they gave you a reward, which theyre too lazy to do. too many reports.

if you start giving away GP for reporting players, the reporting function would be crashed, and probably the website too.

    BR/noob fake hack report overload.

I agree. it will be nice to know that the time spent reporting is not wasted.
  • Not that I think this is a bad idea the problem is they cannot keep up with the amount of replays that they have now, This would just cause a flood of replays and nothing would ever get done. Good thought though
  • Really good idea, but i also think they really have no intention to get rid of ALL the hackers.

Cheaters are a huge financial loss for G4Box, and if they weren't, your statement still doesn't make sense.

    No. Just no.

    It has been discussed before.

It would be open to so much abuse. Kids report anyone that kills them.

I support your idea, but firstly z8 need to start banning the hackers permanently instead of all this 1 week shiz!

Off topic: I loved the 6 - 1 pounding you gave to the mank scum and Balotelli is sick! From a Liverpool fan <3

Could be a inside job? Z8 selling hacks to other companies to make profit elsewhere?
I'm not a strong believer that your doing so, but I've heard people believe that's what is happening.

Obviously thats not the case, but he said "no intention of getting rid of ALL the hackers".
If G4 made money off of cheaters, they wouldn't be paying XTrap and developers money to get RID of cheaters, and certainly not get rid of SOME cheaters when they could just let all of them stay and make more money.

Ridiculous of course, nobody makes money on cheaters except the anticheat companies some barely post pubescent teens with too much time on their hands.

Doubt Z8 would do that when other people do it anyway.
