Server Issue
When I log into Crossfire I notice that everything runs fairly smoothly at first, but then after I join a room I start to gain a lot of lag. MY ping is generally in the 60s but after a minute or so of gameplay it rises to over 4,000. I am not sure what the problem is, I notice my ventrilo ping has the same issue. I get a lot of lag. I don't know what cause this because my internet is connected and though sometimes the signal is low I still have enough connectivity to use AOL or Internet Explorer. That should be enough connectivity to use Crossfire and ventrilo right? I am not sure what the problem is and I am completely blank. I looked up some other posts and saw similar issues. I don't know if this is a server issue or just me?
*And by the way, I almost forgot, When my ping spikes high like it does, the game freezes completely and I have to exit the program by using Alt+Control+Delete...
Any responses are much appreciate!

Thanks for your replies. Does anyone else have a suggestion that is useful in any way to me? Or a better question would be, does anybody have any useful knowledge of in technical support. I am open for suggestions but would rather have someone help me who knows what they are doing...

Well I tried using a ground wire rather than wireless and this time it worked! So thanks for the suggestion man.

No difference between wireless and wired.
The speed is the same i have tried it.
If the lag issue occurred on your ventrilo too then
this is from your modem and i doubt it has anything to do with crossfire.
I am currently facing the same issue but it rises to 250 and it stays there. -

Cause of the Wireless Modem reconnecting to the Computer to keep the conenction stable, you always might get lag spikes, when your not directly close to your Modem, which could cause Crossfire and or Ventrilo like all other Applications to crash, when they are forced to use a Internet Connection. -
We need to fix the server.
I use wireless and even though i play only in west server, and i have a ping around 30's.I still get lag spikes up to 2k and goes down then up again.I think its also due to the servers, beacuse 2 patches ago i had a 80 fps, and i was all surprised, now with the latest patches, it between 5-24 fps.
Now im not sure, but also if the host is far away from the server, it makes everyone lagg as well.So i guess kicking a laggy host should help with the ping.
