How to play in "Window Mode"
OK, so I was looking through some stuff on the forums when I saw the post on how to add shadows by editing setting files, and decided to do some tests. Anyways, This allows you to play CF in a smaller box in the Top-Left corner of the screen while still seeing the rest of your desktop. First, go to C:\Windows\*your username here*\My Documents\Cross Fire\ (Or just to documents and into the Cross Fire folder)
There should be a file called system.dat. Open that file with notepad. The very first number should be a 0, 1, 2 or 3. Change that number to a 4. Save the file, then start up CF, and go in game. It should push the screen to the corner and start playing. If it doesn't work, and it still goes fullscreen. If not, close CF, go back to that file, and change that 4 to a 5. Save. Start CF again.
Hope it helped, and if it still doesn't work for you, then you may want to change your display settings on your computer a bit.
--KNOWN ISSUES--
Random Items instead of bullet shells coming out of the gun in ZM (e.g rainbowmeds [rainbow hypomeds] or rainbow AWM's)
--POSSIBLE ISSUES--
incorrect loading issue (I think I have more proof of it being a host connection error, but I can't be certain, but either way, it could be a problem. No worries though, it doesn't damage CF in any way, you should still be able to quit the game and re-enter. has only happened once through my numerous tests)
CF Crash (I think this was a problem with my laptop, not this actual "mod" but again, I can't be sure, has only happened once through my numerous tests)

mine was already at 4... When I changed to 5, it was in 1920x1080 and full-screen still...
Though I must say I can get headshots now instead of squinting at blurriness but the textures are too low of quality to be at 1920x1080, still much better than 1680x1050, thanks!
