Forced closure when loading

I just installed the game, haven't touched any of the settings.

When the game itself loads, it goes to 98% and says a file has been moved/modified and forces closure. At this point, I haven't done a single thing. Is there any way to solve this issue?




My computer is more than able to run the game.

Try to reinstall your Game by using the Alternative Download Mirrors from the Website.
When these dont work for you, try it with these Mirrors:

Ensure, that Crossfire.exe, Gameguard.mon and Gameguard.des files got full access through your firewall and turn your Antivirus program off for the Installation.
If you got Windows Vista / Windows 7, run the Setup and Gamestart later as Administrator.

i re-installed, worked once. re-opened, same error.


i have no anti-virus installed and no firewall atm.

Do you have any friends playing crossfire?

Find one of them that has crossfire and it's working fine for him and take the files from him
after you completely uninstall YOUR CROSSFIRE.
