ShadowLance9's Escape Mode Guide
ShadowLance9's Escape Mode Guide
Table Of Contents:
1. Global Risk
The objective of the Global Risk in this game mode is to
stop the Black List soldiers from entering the portal, and
"Escaping." Also, a large part of the objective also depends
on keeping the doors safe, to make the defending job easier.
1.1 Defense Strategy
A good defense strategy at the beginning of the round is to
storm the frontlines of the Black List, to prevent the doors
from breaking. These doors are the main objective for the beginning
of the round. If these doors break, the best defense strategy is
pretty simple. An ideal GR team would be 3-4 snipers, and the
rest going with full automatics. The best spot for the snipers is to
have 2 or 3 camping near the portal but far enough not to be
spotted / killed easily, with easy access to cover for an emergency.
Then, 1 or 2 snipers picking off the BL soldiers running towards the
main entrances to the portal. Then, have the full-auto soldiers camping
very close / in the portal, to have the best defense against the soldiers
that are able to make it past the snipers.
1.2 Camping positions
The best camping positions for the following soldier classes are indicated
in green on the maps. These may help in team planning for more defense strategy.
1.2.1 Assault
1.2.2 Sniper
1.3 Covering Entrances
Covering the Entrances in this mode is very important. Without this type of
cover, there will be many more soldiers rushing the portal, making it harder
to defend. The best way to defend these entrances are to hide in a corner that
you know that most people won't check. This leads to many free kills, stopping
many soldiers from making it through to the portal. Not that moving to a different
spot every couple of kills is a good idea, since they will anticipate that you will
still be in that spot.
1.4 Defending the Portal
Obviously, defending the portal is the single most important thing in this mode,
yet, I've noticed that in many games throughout my esacpe mode career, many people
will continue to rush the frontline, when the portal is the thing to protect,
especially when the doors are broken. The best way to defend the portal is to
have multiple snipers camping around the area, picking off the soldiers before they
get to the portal, and to have many other GR camping near / in the portal, to get any
that managed to sneak past the snipers. Another way is to camp inside the portal,
and block the main pathway in the portal by standing in the portal in the direction
where most of the soldiers come from. Note that this will also cause a lot of raging,
so do so at your own risk.
1.5 Heat Maps
These maps show the areas where GR soldiers are killed the most, indicated in red.
Use these maps to plan accordingly, and to camp in areas where not very many soldiers
are killed.
1.6 Tips
Some good tips are to have many soldiers go along your pathway with you, instead of going
alone. Having more soldiers with you will decrease the chance of you dieing, making it
easier to defend. Also, the more your team works together, the more you chances of winning
increase.
1.7 Defending the Frontlines
Defending the frontlines is an important factor to the game, but only when the doors are still up.
Going for the frontlines when the doors are down is a bad idea, because most people will be
defending the portal, so you will be mowed down easily. Defending the frontlines is better when
you have team-mates with you, to make it easier to defend.
1.8 Weapon Tips
Choosing the right weapons for this mode is one of the most important things to do. Depending
on your preference, different weapons than normal may not be suitable for you. For snipers,
the AWM or DSR is a good weapon for picking off rushing soldiers, but a PSG-1, or MSG90 is
better for defending the portal, because of their faster fire rates. However, just about any
assault rifle is good for defending. The best to choose from are the M4A1, AK, or a SCAR.
Personally, I use my SLRD because of its good power and handling in close-quarters situations,
but different people have different skills.
1.9 Mapping Routes
Below are some good routes for defensive positions.
2.1 Attacking Strategy
A good attack strategy at the beginning of the round is to storm the frontlines, to attack
the doors to break them. These doors are the main objective for the beginning
of the round. If these doors break, the best attack strategy is
pretty simple. An ideal BL team would be about 5-6 rushers, and 2-3 snipers.
The best spot for the snipers is to have 2 or 3 camping near the BL spawn, to pick off any GR
snipers. With these snipers waken out, it makes the rushers' job easier. Then the rushers can
attack the doors at full force, making it easier to escape into the portal.
2.2 Breaking Doors
A good way to break the doors, is to get a nice powerful gun with lots of ammo. I suggest an AK, SCAR,
Gatling Gun or any other MG. Then, either get right up close to the door and spray it, or camp far enough
away to tap shoot it, yet still having cover from the frontline GR defenses. These strategies
work better when you have team-mates working with you too, to break the door faster.
2.3 Tearing Down Enemy Defenses
Taking out the GR defense forces is very important, as it will make it easier to get the objective
completed. Have a couple of snipers ready to pick off their main sniper defenses and other easy targets
that may be a threat.
2.4 Taking Out Snipers
Taking out snipers should be one of you first thoughts, as they are the main threat. The best counter
for a sniper, is a sniper. Taking out GR snipers should be a BL sniper's main objective. Hard as it may be,
taking out snipers is also a good idea when breaking doors.
2.5 Early Escapes
Getting escapes early in the round is a bit harder than the normal strategy, but it is worth it.
First thing, is finding an alternate way to get to the portal. Then, you need to sneak past the GR frontline defenses,
because chances are, they won't be defending the portal at the beginning of the round. Then, it's an easy escape.
Alternate ways the the portal are shown below, indicated in blue.
2.6 Tips
Some sood tips for this mode is to have lightweight guns. the heavier the gun, the slower you move, making
it easier for the GR to kill you before you get to the portal. Also, have some backup with you. If you have
multiple soldiers rushing the portal at the same time, chances are, one of you will escape, because if you
have enough soldiers, they can't kill you all at once.
2.7 Heat Maps
These maps show the areas where BL soldiers are killed the most, indicated in red.
Use these maps to plan accordingly, and route through areas where not very many soldiers
are killed.
2.8 Weapon Tips
Choosing the right weapons for this mode is one of the most important things to do. Depending
on your preference, different weapons than normal may not be suitable for you. For snipers,
the AWM or DSR is a good weapon for picking off other snipers, but a PSG-1, or MSG90 is
better for attacking the doors, because of their faster fire rates, and higher ammo. However, just about any
assault rifle is good for attacking.. The best to choose from are the M4A1, AK, or a SCAR-Light.
Personally, I use my SLRD because of its good power and handling in close-quarters situations,
but different people have different skills. Also, the M12s or MP5-ADV are good choices when rushing the portal,
because of their lightweight desgin, and good firepower.
2.9 Mapping Routes
Below are some good routes for attacking positions.
Hope you like my guide, I spent quite a bit of time and research on it, and believe it is pretty good.

Very nice! Also for the camping on ancient ruins, I find that above the gate on the right, (looking from BL spawn to gr spawn) Near the top of the boxes you jump up to get to the window but low enough to see people go through the gate is a good camping spot. No one looks there, they are too focused on running to the portal. But like all camping spots after a few kills move to another spot.

^I think you mean Escape, not Elimination.
Anyways, thanks guys, it's good to know that some people enjoyed my guide, and to all you who say it should be stickied, thanks for the extra support! Even though I know it probably won't be, you never know, if enough people say it should, it just might! -
