How do I hyperlink text?

How do i make links hyperlinked and not plain text? Sorry for the noob a** question but I cant figure out how.

Type in the text that you wanna have linked, mark it and click on the Menu bar on the WorldSymbol, then insert the Link you wanna link that text to and click ok.

I'm not seeing a menu bar anywhere? :S

Click on Quick Reply -> Go Advanced. There you should see it in the menu bar.

ok, then try it with that way:
Put before the marked text, and after the marked text.
With that you can post Links aswell without using the Symbol in the Menubar.

I don't understand what I need to put before and after the text. But I stumbled across some setting in the edit options in the user CP and it had the text edit set to basic? so I changed that to full and now I see formatting box. Thanks for your help
