overall though pc players would absolutely wreck console players hands down.
doesn't make any sense considering they're two different platforms. people experienced with playing fps on the pc will dominate over console players on the pc and vice versa...
imo fps is a lot more enjoyable on the pc and so is mmorpgs so i think it will stay that way -

PC gaming is a thing of the past. every one is moving to consoles or has already. sports, racing sims, adventures, platformers, arcades, puzzles all belong to consoles now. FPS is joining soon.

anyway... the real reason there is not much of a competitive community left in CF besides people attending to school and curricular activities is because the game itself is very repetitive and gets boring quickly. Most of the good players in CF have played the game for a good 2 years or so and are just fed up. Not much has changed since day 1. Still the same teams over and over again. No competition outside of the players you've already been facing for 2 years... it just gets boring and like anything else once something gets old people start looking for new alternatives. Also the hoard of preteens that love to trash talk for whatever reason and the enormous amount of cheaters doesn't help the situation. not to mention a new game is always a lot more exciting to play.
wogl, esl, wcg and whatever other leagues pick up this game will not change this -

the amusing thing is if the devs actually listened to there consumers opinions they'd actually have decent content patches etc.
but then again they would just listen to pub stars as they are will to spend tons of money on zp crap although i do agree that a F2P game needs money to survive i think ALOT of money and sponsors come through the competitive scene, if they just listened to the damned community we'd have a better game i think.
as for the cheaters, the xtrap devs in my eyes are just plain lazy the updates are slow as hell and by the time theyve updated the AC the damned cheaters are back with different cheats. eventually it will be GG all over again and the knife cheats will come back etc. the way they manage this game in general is terrible.
credit though to the current staff i do think they are just doing what they can with what they've got. but tbh unless they're going to improve this game competitively they will lose alot of decent players and just be left with cheaters tbh. eventually this game will just be another sudden attack or combat arms. -

The game will die because you choose it to, plain and simple. You see a guy in a pub with a decent aim and a decent ping. You could easily talk to him and try get him into the community. Z8 games should host their own draft; lost of people including pubstars will turn up and with the right admins will be very well run. Wouldnt be hard to add ZP prizes etc. Lifeline/Trio/Lpk just used to be the teams you wanted to become, now the games full of cheaters and theres teams like [!]nstinct who have taken the top spots and no one can accept it. Remember the kid you said was bad and quit this game? Thats the reason the community is dead. End of discussion, its all your fault egoheads

xtrap has everything to do with it. When certain AC is conflicting with xtrap and nothing gets done...then you have the mess we have now...bunch of half good kids bypassing client so they can have "swag". You people are whats wrong with this game..period. You guys all get wrapped up in your ego's and crap talking..trying to impress each other with trolling. Making yourselves look like a bunch of disrespectful fools. At the end of the day its you guys...no one else. You assume I dont know what Im talking about. Think I dont know how they are doing it? Same goes for WOGL...just as easy. Until xtrap works correctly, how can any league be considered? It's not so much the status of X-Trap, but how it scans. I've had several conversations with Saidin and the method that X-Trap scans, conflicts with how ESL scans and the ESL developers simply haven't addressed it. That is in fact only one of the problems though, but a definite contributor.
A lot of people ARE getting by the clients (WOGL and ESL) in such easy ways that I won't even elaborate on here, if you can even call it a bypass. This problem comes down to anti-cheat staff. Bobby has highlighted these issues before. Having an understaffed A/C group that can't keep up with the reports or even check them is a huge problem. HUGE problem.
This community is yet another problem, as said previously. The average age is 11-16 and half of them aren't really of the mental capacity to bypass these programs, but simply cause headache for the overall competitive community. This downgrades the overall image and we get a perfect storm of what is now our competitive community.
Competitive CF is in fact at an all-time low. There is a lot of factors contributing to it as Tasty, Iceman, and many others have said. The blame can't be placed on one or the other problem. It's ALL these problems that are contributing to what is happening here. Just my two cents.
@ Tasty:
Most 3rd party programs with the depth of an anti-cheat MUST be allowed through X-Trap or they won't function properly. Even the Mumble overlay causes X-Trap issues for people. That is why it was mentioned because it does actually bring some headache to the table for these groups. Unfortunately, that's how the cards have been dealt and these things MUST be dealt with regardless. I'm not making excuses, just further explaining the issue.
@ Everyone:
Can it be fixed? It would take A LOT of work. That is saying it lightly. Is it possible? I certainly think so. Would it be tough? *smacks head* Hell yeah. But I think it could be done, slowly but surely.

Tasty, I do agree with you. Your taking me the wrong way. Im here, I want this scene to stay alive...this is my game I love. You make alot of valid points and Im not arguing your points. Just stating facts just as you are. This situation can only be fixed by US not one certain thing or company. The fact remains that once they think they can get away with doing what they do, they will do it until they get caught. And adding the fact that its "cool" now doesnt help things.
