Also tried compatibility mode and run as admin. Same.

A Blue Screen of Death can be caused by many things besides a virus. There is a known incompatibility between Windows 7 and Gameguard, which is most likely causing this error. You'll just have to wait until Windows 7 is officially released before Gameguard supports it.
BTW...the error given by Gameguard for Windows 7 involves dump_wmimmc.sys. -
In the old forums there were hundreds of threads on the incompatibility.
Yes, CF MAY work on Windows 7 RC Ultimate 64-bit version, but apparently the guys who downloaded the 32-bit version experienced the BSOD. From memory, GameGuard doesn't support Windows 7 YET, but seeing as Win7 is now in RTM stage, the next patch might have support for it.
If you're really that desperate to play CF, get Windows Vista or XP and dual-boot alongside it. -
Yes, Windows 7 RC Ultimate 64-bit runs GameGuard and therefore corssfire. I'm with Windows 7 Enterpirse 32-bit (RTM - final) and there is the BSOD which is very annoying= wrote to nProtect and z8games to understand when it is supposed to be fixed but no answer. I doubt that it will be fixed in the "next patch" as this problem is known for 3 months now.

If you don't want to be changing 2 Windows each time just to play CrossFire, then I'd say it ain't worth it. This is bound to happen; it's your fault you did a clean install of Windows 7 32-bit without noticing its possible effects on your system. It's relatively stable right now, but don't expect everything to work on it.
-
Had a totaly different reason to change the windows and don't really want any other one at the moment nor I have the time to change it/dual boot or anything else. I knew something wouldn't work but that was the least of my worries.
My simple question to Z8Games is when will Crossfire be compatible with Windows 7 32-bit?
Already opened a ticked 3 days ago but no response neither form Z8 nor from nProtect. -
nProtect is responsible for making any updates to the Gameguard client. The game itself works perfectly well with Windows 7. If you want to request Windows 7 32 bit support then I would suggest contacting nProtect.
Here are the specifications for Gameguard from nProtect's site:Operating System Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, VISTA Processor (CPU) Intel Pentium 133MHz or higher (or equivalent) RAM 32 MB or Higher First Library Drive 1.2M Maximum

Hello, this is Game Security Center from INCA Internet.
Thank you for contacting us.
Currently Windows 7 is not an official version, so we are not officially supporting it yet.
However, we are currently testing the support of Windows 7 and applying updates that test the supporting.
So we will take your game into consideration when scheduling updates, and we ask you to please be patient and wait until the proper update is applied to your game.
Thank you.

Subject: GameGuard not working with Windows 7 32 bit?
Hello,
when will GameGuard be compatible with Windows 7 32 bit as lots of games are not running because of this? (question is specificly for CrossFire online FPS)
Thank you in advance! -
Can't you change the compatibility mode like we do in Vista?
Right click on gameguard icon, properties, compatibility, run under windowx xp sp2.
And do the same thing to the Crossfire game launcher.
Idk if it works with Win7
It has been tried many times but compatibility mode for Crossfire does not work. GameGuard has no exe file. -
Last heard about blue screen is a very bad bad virus that completly ****s up your computer They call it
Blue Screen of Death
Probably caused by : win32k.sys ( win32k+11e81b )
I'll try to get you something for this
It doesnt have to be a virus to cause a BSOD. -
I just installed windows 7 I hope this works for when done downloading.
Man it was hard to find a download link for crossfire. It always just routes to old site that has 404's'
Its done and it has the blue screen.
=(
Well I guess we will just have to wait for this to be fixed from nprotect.
My guess is its a very simple fix they just have not takin the time to look into it. -

The issue is simply that Windows 7 is an unreleased operating system. People are supposed to just be using it for testing purposes, and not as their main operating system. I hope that you are all aware that if you are using the RC version that it will stop functioning sometime next year.
