ring/scrim with decent teams that you know can teach you somthing
pug with good players or vs good players
watch casts of scrims or league matchs
play with or vs top players as much as you can and pick up on what they do and work it in to your own style. -

The first half of being good is having good equipment. Get a good headset, mousepad, mouse, rig. The second is your gamesense and having a shot. I play tdm with rifle 2 shot only, and AWP with no secondary, so I can get better at close awping again. All it takes is time. -

This video will help you alot. I found it today.
My team and I just played a couple teams we had trouble beating, and won. -
I'm actually going to agree with uMerked [believe it or not!], but like.....I end up playing with 20fps and 250-500ping a major chunk of the time so yeah, it obviously affects my performance a fck load. Like........having a good rig is so important, I mean....my biggest step up was a 5euro mouse from a touchpad and i've gotten so much better with it even though its a crappy mouse and I have the worst laptop/internet connection you'll ever hear of.
Obviously if you can train yourself to have an amazing aim that is obviously a major helpful factor for you but that would take a lot of time practising. If not, you just need to play smart and get as much experience playing as much as you can. Watch casts, and take note of how players play in certain situations, the angles they take, what they do in clutch situations etc. Get comfortable with your main gun(s) [Like, my aim blows and I k2/ak. If I ak I spray to my hearts content and if I k2 I just know my angles and get tons of easy headshots].
And basically............... learn directly from other players. This is my first FPS and there were tons of people that helped me get so much better over many different teams/clans i've been in [shoutout to SaintMalice, Reaver, Will, PhantomPain and Nip right there!!]. Practise makes perfect I guess.................... Oh, and to keep a positive mental approach you are never wrong. Complain about everything you can think of in a match/scrim to keep your mindset right that YOU are the best?!?!?!!!! -
For CF, you can spectate a game for awhile and look through the eyes of a really good player. You'll catch on quick as to their techniques and emulate their perfected moves. This will give you a nice head start as to what you're doing wrong or right. This also helps if you need to learn rifle positions, sniping positions, ambush positions and whatnot for a map. After you get a few tips/techniques from the good players, you'll need experience of your own to make your own unique style for the game you're playing.
Also, be sure you know any glitches/"special techniques" that can give you an edge....=Dteehee=D -

I'm sorry but how can you agree with the first part? I know so many players with 20ish FPS and can destroy most riflers in this game...gear? I used a $5 mouse for most of my time in CF so do alot of other players and they do just fine. This game doesn't require much. -
I agree with the many people that speak here in the forums. What you need is a half decent computer, headset, mouse and a mouse pad. As people said, scrimming and practicing will help you to improve. Something like this doesn't just happen over night, it takes time building it. Work on your shot from various games of TD to alpha 7 snd pubs with the Chinese kids. Just scrim lots, watch replays of games. What you should and shouldn't do.

if you wanna get your reaction time and aim better i suggest u play tdm. because you respawn quicker than snd, in snd if u die ur out for 1 min. people come from everywhere u have to kill them b4 they kill you also there is a variety of short mid and long range distances.
make sure your playign at the right mouse sensitivity for you, having a good mouse helps imo. better to have 40 fps + as most screens are up to 60 fps.
as doop said learn to play patiently. be clever with picks dont run out and die as i see many players do. ull know when to rush. watch other people play see how they would tackle the situation and u can develop your own playing style and will improve your gamesense. also to improve gamesense learn the maps and spots it helps alot.
also being a good player isnt all about the frags. alot of the time it weither u make good calls which help your team know where the opposition are or heading to. listen out for footsteps and gunswitches. be patient you wont be amazing in a day pratice makes perfect. -
