WTH is going on?!

Everytime I go into CF i get a popup that trys to download to files (IE downloader). I got like 7 of them because I keep getting them going to channels/servers and it's annoying because I can't play with them

I try clicking open, save, and cancel and they keep coming! What is going on?! and all of a sudden! anyone else with this problem?

Omg! I used to always get these.. I just restarted my computer...

Try to remove IE and get a more decent Web Browser like Firefox.

Use CCleaner to compleatly remove the files related to IE and run a virus scan.

NOTE: it is always good for your safety to scan your computer once every 2 days.

I think it might be xfire doing this cause xfire is all messed up, cant chat eith friends text won't enter. arg ...

all right, thx for the infos.
Try the following steps and tell me, if it worked:
- Ensure, that Crossfire.exe, Gameguard.mon and Gameguard.des files got full access through your Firewall
- Ensure, that your Antivirus program wont disturb the Crossfire files by adding a Exception in your Protection Rules.
- Reinstall your Game, if the Error still appears by Downloading the Setup file from the Download Mirrors or Alternative Download Mirrors from the Website.

Simple, fix... Usually just restarting your computer fixes the problem.

Nope, still happens and now they came up as soon as my PC started O_O I'm gonna instart CF and see if that helps

reinstalled cross fire. still happens. I uninstalled xfire also and it still happens.

can't/wont play till I get this fixed

Did you do what i told you?

Uninstall IE and get another Web Browser.

Oh, and try running CrossFire from patcher_cf.exe

I only have IE for windows updates, which I need. I guess I can redownload it ... :P

Fixed: Internet Explorer. Removed it IE8 update (I thought I removed it all together, but my problem is fixed AND I can use IE) and it works now.
