I was installing the new patch and then the installing stopped and the screen closed and then when i ws trin to start crossfire the screen would keep closing and nothing would happen. Then i reinstalled the game and it didnt let me download it it said cf_downloader application not found.

You may need to turn off your anti-virus and firewall. I know sometime's those will block certain files from opening during a download.
