The dominant eye
Hey,
I'm going to give you a short tutorial on how to improve at CF only by choosing your gun placement.
You may have noticed that there is a left/right handed function in CF, the left hand is just an horizontal inverted version, but what gives, right?
Now here comes the important thing, you have one dominant eye! You use this eye for the most of your view.
The reason why you should get to know your dominant eye is simple, if E.G: your right eye is the dominant one, you should place your gun left so you can see more of the screen with your dominant eye. Remember that the dominant eye is not the same as the dominant hand, you should still play with what hand you prefer.
A simple trick to determine the dominant eye is to place your hands together like a triangle:

But with a tiny space. Now look through the tiny hole with both eyes, look at an object like 5/6 ft away. Now close one eye, then open again and close the other. You should notice that if you close one eye, you still see your hands and the object the same.
For me, when I close my left eye, I still see the object the same as it was, which means my right eye is the dominant one.
Now when you have determined your dominant eye, change the gun position to the opposite.
Happy fragging

@AdrianRava Well it depends, if you focus on the crosshair rather than the outside, it shouldn't be that hard. Also don't look at your gun
@Killnumb93 No problem, man!
@Rorzer Haha, yes, you are one of the few (including me) I guess, theres loads of people that use their right hand and are left eye dominant, but not so many right eye dominants. -
My right eye is dominant. I have tried switching the gun to the left before and I just couldn't get used to it. With regular guns and a cross-hair it was ok. But since I snipe about 80% of the time, I found it really hard to snipe with it switched. I had a terrible time knowing where the middle of my screen was for quick scoping.
-
I switched it about a year ago and it took like a week for me to get used to it, it has one more positive thing - the gun in the left side makes you feel like its pressing the oposite direction of your right hand mouse movements, this does a nice "in head" effect, cause the result of those two powers lies somewhere between your gun and mouse and thats the place where the aim is
-
Nice to know my dominant eye, but I don't think it works cuz when you're playing you don't focus on your crosshair, that's totally oposite to it. You're scanning outside all around to quickly move your crosshair and you need both eyes equally
-
Or even better, the side your gun is placed is where you have a lower field of view, in that case, you need to pay even more attention to that side. Wouldn't be great to have your best eye on it? -
Well...I don't like the idea at all.
Right handed...It's easier to move my hand in that direction too, so having the gun 'blocking' anything isn't much of a problem...let alone 90% of your targets in game never appear small enough to be blocked by it anyway...
Secondly, putting the gun on the left is going to cause problems for right-sighted people...we look from the center to the left more anyway, so now we're gonna have the gun in the way in that regard...
