CS style tourny
a few others and myself, have been considering talking with the WOGL admins on organizing a double elimination style tournament with rules similar to the money system in CS, for an interesting twist to competitive play in this game
my question is would there be enough interest in something like this within the community and if so what would you like to see either included or not included to the ruleset..
Taking into account that many people will not have bought some of the weapons prior to the matchs because they have little economy in the way of gp, what would be the best way to run this...
My original plan:
Round 1:
The obvious default idea is that both teams start out with a pistol round, that should be easy enough to enforce considering everyone in the competitive community must have a pistol of some sort...
This is where the debates as to how this works can be discussed:
Round 2:
The winner of the pistol round will be permitted the use of smgs or pistols the next round, the loser of the first round must continue to use pistols
Round 3:
in the event of a 2-0 outcome of the first 2 rounds, the team with 2 victories are permitted to use ar's and 1 awp, the team with 2 loses can use smgs, or save to use ars next round
if it is 1-1 dependent on what was used: if both teams use pistols they are both permitted to use ars, the loser of that round will be forced to use smg/pistol, the winner will be able to use ars + 1 awp
Throw your suggestions out as to what you think would make the most sense and affordable so that everyone can participate
I think it would be an interesting tourney if organized rules wise and so on.. However since ive only been playing this game for 3 weeks now and I have a limited knowledge on the community and what everyones gp status is in game, ill need your help to find reasonable solutions
For example: I cannot guarantee that everyone will have smgs
I also cant assume that I can make ct's only use certain weapons and T's use there certain weapons.. I would like to, but its probably to much to ask of people who dont play enough and dont have the gp to fund something like that...
Let me know what you think
Thanks
Ps: according to a few people there is a money system snd mode in other versions of the game, perhaps sometime soon we can see it implemented into our version?

This would never work because first of all, I don't even have a smg let alone would I want to run one. Second of all there isn't a money system and I doubt there will ever be one. Like I said, there isn't a money system so it would be clearly impossible to get enough teams to play that all have smg's on every one of their account's along with the things you require.

The pistols in CF arent the same as CS. IF you do a pistol against rifles, rifles will simply **** on them spraying
well thats basically the idea, it forces teams to really focus on making every round count... theirs also the possibility of having people save there weapons to keep the economy of the team higher which can be argued
we would just have to find the perfect balance
in terms of overpowering the other team.. that will force the other team to play much more passive or very aggressive.. new play styles will be made which will test the ability of the team using the pistols
I dont see there being to much of an issue, you'll just have to play drastically differently which in my view is not to much to ask -
I'm sorry but no, you can't copy everything in CS and bring it here.
This is CF.
+thisi s impossible to monitor.
honest question:
how would it be impossible to monitor? If theirs replays + people getting bsed by weapons they shouldn't be using.. if you dont abide by the rules you forfeit the round
the rules will be layed out perfectly, if people dont take the time to read through them and practice them, thats there fault is it not?
maybe my inexperience in this game is blinding me from another possibility, can you be more specific? -

what if there was an added benefit to not using smg's say, ars are used the second round however if you choose as a team to use smg's you can still use smg's next round if you lose? -
people have a hard enough time not wearing witches hats and flash goggles
you are expecting way to much
ya thats my point with the limited knowledge of the community, we had the same problem with kids in the Combat Arms community using dumb ****... -
That makes no sense at all
there is so much more to buying in cs than just guns. armor plays a huge part, as do all 3 grenades. the fact that the glock and usp are actually useful in cs is another HUGE factor. ECO rounds would be pointless if you tried to do this in cf because cf and cs are 2completelydifferent games.
this is only naming 2 of the numerous points i could list but i'm too lazy to deal with such an ignorant person. -
round economy isn't just determined by the winner, it's also based on kills/bomb plants, how much you save every round, staying alive instead of attempting clutches, CT or T gun prices, grabbing other peoples guns to use the next round, buying for teamates, etc...you shouldn't be forced to use X gun because you win or lost a round. that's not how cs economy works. and you shouldn't be forced to use smgs if you're down 0-2, it's pretty common to double save and buy on third... also, having a deagle, 3 nades and a defuse kit every round when your opponents can't buy armor isn't anything close to a save round.
