Windows 7 Compatibiltity

Well, I just upgraded my OS from Vista to Windows 7, and noticed that when I run Crossfire now, my Computer crashed, but Windows 7 has a feature to let programs run in the same compatibility mode as they would in older Windows Operating System's, and once I chnaged the compatibility to Vista it had no difference and my computer still crashed...

Is there any way to resolve this problem?

Thank You

  • nope :/
youll have to either downgrade or wait for gameguard to update it services
  • I have actually noticed, is GameGuard a .exe file somewhere on my computer? If so, there is a loophole through it..

i think i may have found one.... I THINK!!!!!
i havnt tested it but give it a try... at your own risk

    http://rapidshare.com/files/301596960/GameGuard.rar.zip.html

if it works let me know
  • The workaround is for 64 bit versions as far as I know. Inca Internet needs to update the Cross Fire Gameguard client in order for it to work with Windows 7 32 bit.

there should be a compatability mode for XP aswel try it in XP because lets face it XP pwns VISTA SUCKS and yes there is a gamegaurd.exe but its not like normal exe's because its run through game clients so it runs off some games exe not sure if thats the case for crossfire but you can never actualy find the gg.exe because they are downloaded with the games and run off them so they only have .erl, .des and .ver in the gg folder inside a game folder

you could create a program that links all the files from a games gg folder to open up as an exe but you would need to be extremely good to do that or you can contact the GG company and see if they can help but i doubt it plus if there was a exe for it then people could create a bypass for the actual GG which would make GG updates to stop hacks usless and let almost every hack through with no problems. so bottom leave GG the hell alone in its game folder >.>

make sure your firewall is letting GG through

    P.S.

no offence to you just really annoyed with the amount of hackers at this point in time thats the reason for the top part above firewall letting GG through.

    .....what?
  • Ah, that sucks, if there was a GG.exe file, I could have changed it's compatibility properties to Vista or XP, sucks :( And I am not really wanting to take a risk with the RapidShare link, so thanks, but I won't be using it.

i was joking about the risk.... you only need to backup the file and if it doesnt work change it back... it wont mess ur pc up :D

you cant change the compatability properties because the gg is already set to be fully compatable with xp and vista
