Crossfire + USB Hardrive

I have a little 75Gb USB Hardrive, I wish to put CF on it and have a blast on the University computers as they have some amazing specs (more than anything also to see what an amazing connection I get).

So far I’ve put CF on, literally copied n pasted all the directory files, however when trying to start CF, the C4_GearBOX (or whatever the name is) screen works fine, but then when I click "Start Game", I get an error:

"Failed to download version .ini."

Do i need to download CF onto it first? Then install it? Rather than just transferring the files?

Remembering I have limited admin rights to these computers, what would one recommend to me?

you need directX 9 on the computer, go to Microsoft and put it on there

or download the .exe, put it on ur HD, and copy the .exe to the PC ur on and install it

Ooo might not be able to do that due to permissions set. Ill give it a bash though, cheers for advice.
