Canada WCG National qualifier LAN

I over heard over a few threads someone mentioning that there was some considerations underway as to a laned national final for the Canadian qualifier, is there any truth to those claims

No nationals for CA unfortunately due to lack of players/teams (which is kind of weird since I know there is at least 8 teams + the Chinese teams)
