so what? the average nba player is 6'8 250 pounds. there is no such thing as a "sissy" sport, just because the sport doesn't involve as much physical contact doesn't mean it's "sissy". Get that through your head kid.
  • there is no such thing as a "sissy" sport,

yeah sounds like something a sissy would say.

too bad they act like they are 5'8 150 pounds. i guess basketball is where football rejects go.

you make no valid points whatsoever. just because the sport of basketball doesn't involve the usual physical contact that could harm players, doesn't mean it isn't a good sport. the athletics in basketball isn't matched by any other sport on the planet, maybe except for swimming.

take your average hockey player and your average basketball player, which one will win in each of these events?

    sprints
    long jump
    weight lifting
    hurdles

    etc etc etc

the basketball player. there is nothing like watching an nba game courtside.

You'd be surprised... Wait, a basketball player beating a hockey player in weight lifting?

History will be made for sure.

Yez and History was made :) Good job Boston, crazy Vancouver had to go all out and start a riot. So what cananda is not about -.- i am throughly ashamed...

BUT, According to Analysis of NHL players by country of birth study conducted by Ph.D. Alan Hache, for the 05-06 season, 53.6% of all players in the NHL were Canadian. And America had a 18.5% share of all hockey players in the end. They just could never win without Canadian talent on American teams!!!

    xD mwahahha.
  • It's all about the money. The variety of sports in Europe are so much better, you can actually live a good lifestyle financially from playing sports such as volleyball, handball and swimming professionally. In Canada? Forget about it, you don't even get a salary playing like these sports here. It's a joke. Hockey's a joke. Canada's a joke. Once I get the chance, I'm heading straight to the USA/Europe.

Just because there is one MLB/NBA team in Canada, doesn't mean it's a good country to be playing those sports in. How many Canadians are in the NBA LOL? Practically none.

You're going to USA because of sports? Or because their economy is better than Canada's? Oh wait.

The only reason I'm staying in Canada is because of the better economy [better than America's, who were almost 10 times better than us a long time ago] and because of free health care. I'd rather pay an extra $1000 a year or so instead of getting into a fatal accident in America and having to spend millions of dollars [from my city's newspaper : http://www.windsorstar.com/Local+still+critical+condition+with+burns/4923284/story.html].

Sports isn't everything. Only about 1 to 2 % of all COLLEGE ATHLETES make the big leagues. The other 99 to 98 percent are left with tons of "what-ifs" [http://www.ask.com/questions-about/College-Athletes-Going-Pro].

Taylor Hall [NHL player] went to a high school in my city [look up Taylor Hall Edmonton Oilers]. He had 6 best friends. And when I say best friends, I mean that they played hockey on a daily basis.

All 7 of them played for my city OHL team, and only Taylor made it to the NHL. When my cousin talks to him [they were "acquaintances"] he said that the only reason that he made it was because he got lucky and did good.

We have over 1000 18 year olds that play hockey in our city, and only 1 made it to the NHL. I'm doubtful that any other kid will make it to the NHL, NBA, or MBL in the next 10 years from our city.
  • I'm surprised sports are being discussed over these forums.
