I know there are tons of posts about this but I have tried everything they say and nothing works.

Has anyone devised a solution aside form the Disk Cleanup?

try to uninstall and reinstall your crossfire by using the Mirrors of the website. If they dont work for you, you can try it with this Mirror.

ooh this is quite shocking but it worked. I re-installed the client and ran the patch again and it worked. I used to run the game through the manual exe in the Program Files before since the launcher was malfunctioning and now I can play normally! Thanks for your help lol. I can play now! See u in game.

If you REALLY REALLY need to play again and Disk Cleanup doesnt work for you, the 100% fix will work for you. What you need to do, is uninstall Windows, and reinstall it. Btw, if you have Vista, use System Recovery(Restore? idk the actual name). Not sure how Win7 works as far as that. With XP you need a disk tho.

This method works 100%... but its a last resort if Disk Cleanup doesnt work.

Alright people, listen up.

If you wish to fix this problem.. Follow my steps.

For Windows XP & VISTA users:

1. Go to start.
2. Go to Control Panel.
3. Click 'Performance and Maintenance'.
4. Click 'Free up space on your hard disk'.
5. Only check 'download Program files' & ' Temporary Internet Files'.
6. Click okay and try to open up CrossFire.

After you follow these steps you should not get the problem again, until we get another patch. Follow these steps again and CrossFire should be working well again.

TO MODS: Can anyone of make a thread and sticky it? It's kind of getting annoying how people don't listen and keep make useless threads when there's already dozens of them with the answers to fixing the problem.

What you gotta do is download the old version of crossfire. (any version BEFORE HALLOWEEN PATCH).
After that it worked fine for me

i got it to run after reinstalling 7 times...

this game is full of bugs. Instead of releasing new maps, guns, etc they should fix bugs.
