low fps competitive gamers

like how so? ^
You want a constant fps especially with a game like crossfire, or anything when you're playing competitively. Preferably in the 120's so your aim is consistent.
It doesn't take much to build a computer that can play crossfire at a steady 100+ fps, here's an example:

Build that and you'll be flying in most competitive games. crossfire? counter strike source? call of duty 4? no problem, easy 100+ fps. -

haha thought ppl just climb fast in cf,now i know why -
o, i just want to knwo the cons of low fps and all the game aspects it affects compared to high fps.
aiming is more difficult
your movements aren't as fluid
How do you expect to hit those clutch shots with the awp when you're idling around 30fps? you'll get lucky, but you want the best possible gameplay so you won't have the problems of an unresponsive game affecting everything you do. -

i see, what would you suggest for a $2k budget?(whole new computer, every accessory) -

yes this happens alot. so basically you will have to be raw as hell to play cf with low fps, to be considered good. -

2k budget?
let me give you a run down before I actually post every part. I'm thinking an i7 build, with a GTX 570. For your monitor, I highly suggest a 3D-ready monitor. No, not because it has the ability to do 3D, but because it has the ability to do 120 hertz (trust me, very worth it when you have over 120 fps and 120 hertz)
For accessories, I recommend the MX 518 mouse, and/or the Wheel Mouse Optical (you can even get both and use one as a backup) a mechanical keyboard will also be beneficial, steelseries 6g maybe?
I'll post in a bit. -

well if you're good then you're good.
give fr0d a computer that plays with 25 fps in cs 1.6, do you think he'll be bad? no, he'll just be a little more inconsistent, but still the overall best player in the game. -
used to play with 45-50 fps but then my pc finally died. I was pretty consistent IMO but it was pretty annoying when smoke or a group firing happened
I played with a pretty below average laptop at one point, and I can tell you, dodging smokes because they would lag me really really put me and my team at a disadvantage. -
I play with 25-40. It would start around 40, but then decrease rapidly since my laptop over-heats like crazy. Em..... smoke really fecks me up - I go down to 2-5 and get stuck in walls quite a bit then. I played at my friends house a good bit a while back and he used to get a constant 90fps and everything was so smooth. Massive difference.
