Does hardware matter? (that much)
Quick question. I'll start with what specs I'm using now.
50-130 fps Acer pc (on low settings... no video card)
Microsoft Sidewinder X5 (I like it... even though it's old)
Standard Compaq keyboard (keyboards don't matter...)
A 15 dollar headset I got on amazon...
and a 19 inch Gateway Moniter.
Now back to the question... Do I need an amazing setup to do well in WOGL?

All of lifelines team has a good computer with the exception of an occasional messed up monitor or something like that.
To be honest though, if you get a constant 60+ fps in everything (double, trips smokes, all maps, etc.) than you should be good
Alright. So I guess I'm fine for now. -
Most beneficial thing u could get right now is a good optical mouse and a nice mousepbad(ur preference).
Also, get a 120Hz display if you dont have one, The XL2400t is the only 24" 120Hz 3d 2ms display on the market. So if you like a big screen and want fast response time and refresh rate: XL2400T( IT WAS DESIGNED WITHT THE HELP OF HEATON AND SPAWN).
Headset/Headphone and a mech keyboard comes after. Computer upgrade comes last considering u can get 60+ Frames which is fine. But if you have a 120Hz monitor, make sure you have a better computer that can run CF at 120+ or else the monitor is not beneficial. -

Buy a Microsoft IntelliMouse/Wheel Mouse Optical $15/30 (amazing and cheap mouse for gaming)
Buy a mechanical keyboard $80
Buy a better headset (preferably a sennheiser headset, they're amazing quality and you'll hear things you've never would have been able to hear)
You'll be improving a lot of aspects of your game which is very beneficial when playing leagues.
#winning. lol -
I have a computer that costs $1000 worth almost 5-6 years ago. A Custom-built Windows XP and parts from newegg.
It Can Run :
- Battlefield 2 + Bad Company 2
- Portal 1 + 2
- COD: MW2 + BO
- Crysis 1 + 2
____________ I think hardware indeed matters. The bandwidth matters to.
oh and.. 150+ FPS :P -

600 bucks for a "constant 150fps"? wow thats a rip off from hell lol..i built mine from the motherboard up for around $350/380 and keep a "constant" 227fps and 38 ping..150fps is good but no need to spend that kinda money -

So you can run crysis 2 from a computer 5 years ago that was 1000$? -
MY setup: cardboard box, hamster wheel, Glass screen, can+string, and a writing pad as my keyboard, i get a constant 1-3 FPS.
MY actual setup, No joke LOL: Logitech taped headset with headset part not working, but mic is, DJ headphones, a 20 inch Hp screen, Logitech M100 mouse(PS/2 mouse), HP Pavilion that gets me 45-60 FPS. -

Yes, so for 350 dollars, you're getting 300 fps?
I'll believe it when I see it. -
I hope you guys realise that your screen refreshes only 60 times a second(60Hz), meaning, your screen can't possibly produce an image higher than 60 FPS unless you have a higher refreshing screen such as a CRT or 120Hz 3d ready LCD.

mm, you want high fps so you don't get below 60 during drops, not because 200 is such an awesome viewing experience compared to 150.
yea, as long as you dont drop under 60/75, you won't feel a difference
But I'm getting an XL2400t so I'm gonna need to upgrade my computer as well lawl(it refreshes at 120Hz) :P -

If you only paid that much for it and get that much fps you must have not invested in a good graphics card (since crossfire doesn't need one).
