ummmmmmm. i just got home from work and didnt know the servers were down. and got this error msg. and based on some of these replies, now im gonna have to uninstall and reinstall the game?

actually u shouldn't have to reinstall i get that message all the time and when they're back online it still works.:D;):rolleyes:

holy mac and cheese, clearly you havn't read the replies in this thread...they're patching it up, started at 1 EST (it says when u open crossfire) and should be done anytime now hopefully

i had read the replies in this thread b4 i posted. dont like starting new threads in tech support untiil i have checked for other topics w/ my same issue and reading them 1st. but dont remember who said it, but they said earlier in this thread, that once u get this error that u will have to submit a ticket on it and then prob uninstall and reinstall.

what i was saying was just a comment about that. personally i hate using the quote system cause it just copies and pastes what has already been said. if it was there once, y do we need to see it again. but that is me and my opinion.


but i will try to load up the game again after the servers are back up.

now when u said the issue started at 1 est, was that 1am or 1pm? cause if it was 1pm, i was already in the game at that time and was not having any issues at that time.

The servers are up however they are getting hammered with all of you trying to download the patch at once.

If you still get this problem after a few hours just reinstall the game and repatch it from then.

All of these problems (file has been changed or forged, version.ini and patch_cf errors) are all due to the same thing.

A little patience is all that is required.
