Gradual Progress cap?

So yes, the Devs and the Mods have said "No, were not having any plans on implementing this" several times as mentioned but was thinking of the benefirts that the ping cap can bring. Im going to be simple and blunt in my statments so bear with me:


Im thinking a ping cap of around 500 or even higher to 700. WE ALL know that these people are the ones that teleport and no one likes them. Not even the higher pingers like these guys.

We have it at 500 or 700 so pretty much everyone can still play, just the teleporters get kicked from the room to the lobby. If they can get back a stable connection, then all is good.

On top of this, Im thinking of a gradual ping cap with higher standards of internet connectivity; with each subsequent year, the ping cap lowers by 50 ping or whatever ( could be 10 or whatever). High ping harms the 0-150ping ranged people and causes racial sentiment against cetain groups of the game due to their "delay" in the game. Its both an injustice to the high pingers and the low pingers.

    Anything beyond 200 ping is unplayable, what you been smoking. The only way to make it even remotely bareable is if you have godly FPS.

    Yes, but we can all agree that anyone with 500 ping or above SHOULDNT be playing.

    That should be the first step: Get rid of the teleporters.
  • Considering how many people actually do pay money to get Z8Games to give them ZP, disallowing someone to play this game with a certain ping is pretty much as much as discrimination.

    I'm not one of those pingers, me being an American with Canadian Ping (10-30 Area) I consider this to be possible, but highly unlikely.

    You won't cap ping? Fine, then do something, anything about this ping issue. It's getting out of control at this point. Maybe take ideas from other games because you aren't too great at coming up with ideas. Do what MW2 does, match players similar pings. The flood of threads about brs/laggers/ping will not stop unless you do something.

    Don't get me wrong. I do understand this isn't about discrimination, infact, I am completely against it. It's great that CF is expanding to other countries and I am happy for them, I really am. But if that brings down the quality of the game, I will not stand for that, and that's exactly what's happening. If something isn't done soon, CF will be bankrupted out of NA soon.

    But I think its too late. They could start with a snall but time consuming transition such as one i have suggested.

    Just start with a ping cap of 700, then 500, then 400, etc.

    I just dont understand why our versian cant get a ping cap, but alot of other versians have them....

    Dont take this in the wrong way. I still want the Brs to keep on playing UNTIL they get their own CF. That being said, we should get a ping cap at around 500 so 200 and 300 pingers can still continue to play.

    Think about it, it like having 5 routers, x = firewalls... all routing packets that are coming and out at once, then had this "filter" to drop ppl ping signal that higher than 700.

    Doing this, CF would not even be able to add a text dialog in the game.

    Japan have there own servers, there not cap. you cant stop ping.

    Ping cap is a myth.

    Until you being some real prof of a game that uses it, or the technology that behind it, then going to stay a myth.
  • Once the ping becomes large enough the server automatically disconnects you.

    This is the case for every game. I am just asking that the ping value be lower.

    Edit: There are many ways that you can make a ping cap. Just because YOU dont know how to make one doenst mean they dont. Evidence:

    I dont know the technology behind this, but if many game ssuch as CS and the previous one mentioned has it.. then... its bound to be there.

    Then if the technology is there. Then you would be able to google it and search bing...

    And nothing shows up, but cap for a hat!

    How you can implement QoS, which balances the flow of how packets come and go, or load balancing and clusting, but the last two are more for the HD then networking.

    Ok look bro... Either these companies are lying... or there is some way that they are doing it. Maybe they do it based of the actual value that pops up in the game? Like the number appears and if its greater than whatever, it boots them from the room?

    Googling and Binging might not be the best way to do so; too many results come from the word "ping" and "cap".

  • If this idea were to work, what would happen to those people that have a decent ping of around 50+ and spikes up to the 700 range? My Internet connection occasionally does it and it's rather tedious.

    Maybe this ping cap should be more specific, perhaps have a timer to kick the constant High pingers than to kick both the spiking and the constant high pingers?

    Yeah Im thinking maybe like every 135ms the game checks your ping. If your ping spikes and stays that high for more than 3 intervals you get kicked to lobby?

    Think about, if you think CF or Z8 dont want to implement because this ping cap would chase client away, but having this ping cap set at 800 - 1000 would keep the ppl that lagging the server and not the ppl at 400 - 700 that are simple running big progarm in the background that lagging there FPS and ping.

    Besides, it easy killing ppl with higher ping. remember you going to act faster then the lagging person. so act fast and shoot fast.

    Ill try and find the info of a ping cap, but as I said, I dont really care how it will be done; I just want it to be done. Regardless, there is ALWAYS a way.
