Game freezes everytime after 3-5 minutes of play.

This happened to me constantly on XP. I wiped my comp clean and upgraded to Win 7, updated/installed all my drivers, etc. Whenever I run CF I get about 3-5 minutes of play before it just freezes and I'm forced to ctrl-alt-del to close it.

I've spent hours doing/trying everything within these forums to stop this from happening and nothing seems to work

Hey man, i have the same issue. Except I can't ctrl alt delete my way out. I have to do a hard reset. I have I-7 920, x58 board, 6 gigs ram, gtx 275, and windows vista 64 bit. . . . .

There is nothing simialr about our setups, except for the freezing, lol

does it just freeze and not come back? how long are you guys waiting for?

because mine does the exact same thing, except mine comes back, and my pings just shot up to about 500. the screen freezes and everything.

i have had the same issue the last couple days. but not after 3-5 min. sometimes its 1hr or more. but then in middle of a match, the game will freeze up and it crashes to desktop. and it takes about 60 sec from time of freeze to crash to desktop. no need to ctrl alt del or soft boot.

Which Windows 7 Version do you have? 32 Bit or 64 Bit?

64-bit, but it did the same exact thing when I had xp 32-bit. When I wait, to see if it'll "unfreeze" itself, it just closes to desktop after a minute or two.

Do you have the newest Graphic and directx drivers installed? Are you playing on a wireless or wired connection? Is Gameguard and Crossfire allowed to run smoothly by your firewall and Antivirus?

3) I've gone as far as turning them completely off

anyone got any crazy ideas that aren't floating around on this forum? I've literally tried everything short of buying new hardware....

...could it be a hardware issue? If so, what? Harddrive? Video card? Motherboard? etc..

Have u updated all the updates from windows 7? go to windows update in start and update them all if it didnt work ur comp maybe is not good enough to run 64 bit smoothly do u got 3ram or more? or i would have no idea

Everything is updated and I've got 4 gigs, should be plenty...regardless, this same issue was happening to me when I had Windows XP. That's why I don't think it's a Windows 7 issue. I've wiped and reinstalled everything on my computer multiple times between then and now and I still ahve the same problem...which makes me think it's probably not a software problem. I was able to play the game just fine prior to mid-October, then one day this starts happening.

The only thing left that I haven't changed is my hardware...I'm just not sure which piece of hardware..I don't want to replace the whole computer if I don't have to. (I wouldn't do it anyway for just CF...I'm hoping this crap doesn't happen to me with CoD: MW2)

mhm.. im still nearly clueless, what the issue on this might be.. :S
another idea: do you get something like this ingame before your Game freezes? If not, you atleast can be sure its not a graphic card issue..

Why do people always look at it as if it is your computer? I am a firm believer that they are having issues with the game itself. I know it is not on my end. Today so far I have played 4 games, 3 of them froze up right before the end. SO in the hour I have played, not much xp and this is getting old! May have to just start playing some other game. my computer is all up to date, it is a very fast computer, and I have cable. SO ITS THE GAME =(
