Is it possible to use a gaming controller?

I want to try out my ps3 controller to play crossfire, and even got programs like JoyToKey but everytime i enter crossfire, my controller doesn't do anything... Is it possible to use a gaming controller?

as long as it doesnt mess with nprotect you can use xpadder to use a game controller. my nephew uses a xbox 360 controller for playing cod4 on my pc. works great.

Hi PZZAMANO I just bought the same controller, and tried with xpadder and doesnt work. Any ideas.
