Failed to Execute Game Client

I am not able to run crossfire because of the error, failed to execute game client.
Crossfire worked fine back in April or so, I quit for awhile during the summer, and now I'm trying to re-install it.

I've tried re-installing several times using various versions of the crossfire setup file, but no progress. I'm using windows vista and I've tried running the program under admin.. i think...

I've also tried the suggestions under 'common solutions' including deleting the leftover files after uninstalling crossfire...

PLEASE HELP MEEEEEE!!!!!!

Please give me something more than "just re-install it again", "restart your computer", etc.
I NEED A SPECIFIC RESOLUTION.

Mhm.. you can try the following possible solutions:
- Uninstall the game completly (with using Ccleaner too)
- Try to download it by another mirror (like Torrent)
- Be logged in as Administrator when your Installing Crossfire and when you later start your game
- Make sure you got the latest graphic and directx drivers installed
- Ensure that Crossfire and Gameguard got full access to the Internet through you firewall
- Try to close all unnessessary processes in the background
