Please help! (Urgent)

Alright, any FPS game I try and download, it does not work. Whether it's Crossfire, Combat Arms, or Counter Strike it says that the source file is corrupted or just any other stupid error you can think of. I've tried every possible download for Crossfire and they all say a source file is corrupted. It's usually different files, though. Sometimes it will say that in the beginning of the download, whereas other times it will do that halfway through or at the end. Can someone help me, please? I would appreciate it sooooo much, I am tired of CS2D.

Are you using XP, Vista or Windows 7?

Windows XP I belive. And it also gives me the option to abort, retry, or ignore the problem.

mhm.. normally i'd say, try to download Crossfire from a different mirror like Torrent. Make sure, you deinstalled previos Crossfire Versions completly from your Computer to stop possible Errors while Installing. (If you would have Vista, i'd say, run the installation as Administrator) Ensure, that Crossfire and Gameguard got fully access to the Internet and not getting blocked by a firewall.
If that doesnt help, try to post a Screenshot of the Error your getting.

Alright, to uninstall would I just uninstall it from the folder, then throw the folder away, and then just try downloading it again? And what is gameguard? Do you have to download it or does it come with the CF download? And lastly how do I make sure my firewall does not block my programs?

use the uninstaller located in your Crossfire folder to uninstall Crossfire. You might aswell use a program like CCleaner to ensure you got rid of all Files.

Gameguard is the Anti-Hacking Tool that comes automatically with your Crossfire Installation. You dont need to download and install that seperate.

And lastly how do I make sure my firewall does not block my programs?

Open your firewall and grant Crossfire.exe, Gameguard.des and Gameguard.mon full access to the internet. (Depending on what Firewall software you got, you find some help on the Developers Website how to grant programs access to the Internet)

[Because you got XP, you can ignore to start the Installation and the Game itself as Administrator. Otherwise, if you would have Vista or Windows 7, that would be nessessary.]

And by the way I use MS Windows XP Professional SP2, AMD Athlon Processor, 895MB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4400 Graphics Card. So maybe my computer isn't good enough to run this game? Even though it should be.

i think you downloaded a broken version of Crossfire. Deinstall Crossfire and download it by another mirror again. Try something like Torrent or an alternative Download. That hopefully should fix your problem.. If not, keep it posted in here pls

Downloading CF again and again won't solve this problem..

I would suggest you to reformat your computer..

The thing is, I've tried every mirror, and alternative download and it comes up with the same message every time. :S

I was having this problem when I first tried to install crossfire.
The solution was, downloading it another time/day.
Give it till tomorow, and try re-installing.
Hope it all goes well.
