some help with trojans. (right place for this?)

ok first off, im going to say that this is pertaining to my computer, and not crossfire, so if its supposed to be in off topic or something, just move it. BUT

my computer has found that i have 6 trojans on my computer, i cannot open task manager, i cannot go into safe mode, i cannot open internet explorer.

it has the location of them, but when i go there, even while showing hidden folders/files, they arent there.

can anyone tell me how to find/get rid of them. im hoping i dont have to wipe my whole computer.

  • Do you know what you have downloaded?? Make sure you don't download from unsafe sites as they give out virses and trojans.

    Woah, Dude

First you gotta copy all your files onto a spare Harddrive then completly Wipe your computer!

    Or.

Try download avast (Its Free) and do a Full scan of ur comp!

    Hope dis info helped! :o
  • my buddy told me about copying to a spare harddrive, but he said the virus might go along with it.

is avast better than mcafee? i also want to add that i chose to remove those 6 files, and i found where the rest of my quarenteen'd files are. and i found (ready for this????)

65 QUARENTEENED TROJANS. 65!! i dont know where the heck they came from, theyre all pretty much the same one. the only things ive recently downloaded were xfire, and the newest version of gamebooster.

i removed ALL of them, restarted my comp and the red x is still there. (a message saying my computer is infected with spyware, windows will now download a special antispyware program... which is the scam virus to begin with)
