My life story with metal music
I might get trolled .. but hey .. like I care ?
8 years ago .. I used to be an ordinary kid .. go to school, help my parents, doing lots of hobbies such as soccer, reading...etc .. anyway when I reached 11th Grade / 17 years old .. I met this guy .. he was so weird and mysterious .. sometimes he just sit all alone by himself .. sleeping .. doing nothing at all .. at 1st I thought he's geek / weirdo 0.0 .. then I told myself "I should try to talk to him, try to understand why he act like that" .. so then I sat next to him in a class and start to talk to him .. might get a word from him or two .. we talked about school, teachers, kids we dislike, and more ? .. anyway I decided to be a good friend with this guy .. and we started to be more opened .. I have spoken about my family, his, our lives .. after several times .. we start to run from school together ( ehemm I taught him that LoL ) .. he seems to like that .. so we start to skip every single class and run away from school .. we either grab something to eat or buy a cig pack after jumping from the school wall xD .. then we decided to change the routine .. so yeah .. we start to go to this internet cafe near the school where they charge 1 JD for 10 hours ( 1 JD = 1.41 USD ) .. from there .. I knew all about the Internet .. I even create my hi5 / myspace accounts ( I don't use Hi5 now xD ) and I were so happy about it .. he also made a Hi5 account .. then he start to send me links for Metallica .. I was Impressed .. cause I have never thought I would listen to such a genre after all .. Metallica is really a nice Heavy metal band .. then he also introduced me to Megadeth / Iron Maiden / Motorhead / Deep Purple / Black Sabbath / AC/DC / Venom / Slayer / Exodus..and many other Heavy / Thrash Metal Bands .. after 3 months .. I start to listen to metal properly .. like always .. I even downloaded some tracks on my phone.
we start to see each other after school .. now that he's my best friend .. I only keep up with him and no one else .. I even start to hate my other friends for some reason .. then we start to talk to other metal heads around .. do lots of crazy stuffs together .. like this time when they crashed a police vehicle .. I was Like WDF 0.0 !! then I decide to help in a way .. and run in another .. so I only crashed the window within my hand by holding a stone .. I did crash it .. nothing happened to my hand ( I got the black belt in Taekwondo haha ) .. anyway we ran away after .. then I decide to stay back for a while
After Grade 12/18 years old .. I decided to complete my studies in Egypt ( I'm Jordanian btw ) cause I was having a lot of problems .. such as boredom !!! .. I tried Canada as well .. but no chance ( didn't send me back anything =.= ) so anyway .. I met another person in Egypt .. and this time he's way weirder than thy other ? LoL .. cause he dress black all the time .. I realised he's a metal head when I 1st saw him .. nevertheless I spoken to him .. but this time we get closed faster than thy 1st person .. cause we already have something in common .. METAL \m/ .. he was more atmospherical / obsessed with the old mythologies such as Scandinavian(Norse) / Egyptian / Greek&Roman / Celtic / and the epic fantasy novel The Lord of The Rings .. I was like "from where did you get this knowledge" .. he said "I listen to some bands who talk about it in their lyrics" .. and I said "who ??" he named some bands like " Bathory, Burzum, Immortal, Summoning, Enslaved,Kampfar, Windir, Ancient Rites, Helheim, Amon Amarth, Moonsorrow, Ensiferum...etc ..
I still listen to metal music till today .. what about you ? tell me your story .. or tell me why you hate metal ? would like to hear some opinions about this !!!!

the other bands I don't reaally know that well AC/DC is so nice in concert. I watch them in Portugal concert some years ago.

You can call me a poser, but I actually got into metal from the Rock Band video games. I use to be a ****sta (wanna-be gangsta/white gangsta) and listen to nothing but rap. But then I saw what it does to people (had a friend who got in with the wrong people and ended up getting shot in a drive by) and basically stopped listening to music all together. Then, I found out about Guitar Hero, then got into Rock Band and here we are

Everything has begun at my friend´s birthday party at april 1983. He put LP AC/DC Back in Black. Then I´ve heard "Hell´s Bells" For the first time. Suddenly, I knew that is it. Approx. 1 year later I started listen Metallica. I haven't seen or heard about a fight on a concert since the late 90s or early 00s. These days if you start moshing on a mainstream band like Slayer you got the security back on your neck immediately.
LoL ?! Depends on where you live .. haven't you ever heard of something called Wacken ?? it's a concert that participate every year to support metal all over the world .. and it bring all new / old metal bands from all the Genres

Firstly I don´t listen Black/Doom/and Death (OK, maybe some bands are Melodic Death, In Flames for example),
secondly, metal fans do not provoke conflict. This is stupid stereotype. Maybe they provoke it in your country, but not in mine (of course if they were attacked, they defend themselves).
Thirdly, I don´t want to restrict to my kid which kind of music is allowed to him and which is not. All I can do is teaching my kid how to recognize difference between good and evil. Idiots who provoke conflicts, wars and other BS, will do it with metal or without.
At least as I see the situation in US, mainly troublemakers at streets are Rap gangsta idiots, not metal fans.
So, once when you becoma a father, keep your child away from Rap, instead of keeping him/her away of metal -

This is also BS. Most of my friends, that grew up toghether with me, were or are still Metal or Punk fans.. Today, all of them become a ordinary people with their families, jobs, kids, etc, etc...I know mate ^^ .. some of em are not .. but the Majority is .. in a way or another

I agree. Metallica is one of the biggest metal bands ever. They have changed their style with Self Titled Album (AKA Black Album). Kill ´em All, Ride The Lightning, Master of Puppets & ...And Justice For All are masterpieces of metal as genre.Say what you want. Metallica *was* the greatest metal band ever. -
