  • fire.pngYea, it's just down to the fact that Windows 7 is just due for release and Game Guard needs to update to make its game compatible with it. Something like that anyhow. fire.png

    Please read the forums.

    3) The OS is not in full retail release right now. Windows has stated the end of October for Windows 7. (around the 22nd I believe). Until you can walk into a computer store and BUY a copy of the OS there is no need for us to provide support for it.

Some users can currently run Windows 7 in compatibility mode, some can not. There are unexpected errors that we don't know about yet because the OS is not in retail release.

Game Guard will be updating their software to be compatible with Windows 7. Until the OS is in retail release and Game Guard has done their job then we can't do anything about Windows 7 problems.
  • Sorry Saidin but I would like to correct you on this. Game Guard is already compatible with Windows 7 32bit and 64bit versions. I would know that as I tested newest game **** (not going to mention in order not to advertise other games on the forum). It also has Game Guard and is running on Windows 7 32bit with no problems. On the same computer and same Windows 7 32bit Crossfire is not running (BSOD).

I crosschecked the folders of Game Guard in both games and the files are somewhat different. Unfortunately the structure is different and can't copy/replace the new files in order to make it run.

The conclusion is that Game Guard DOES support Windows 7 in all of its versions (due to be official in 2 days) but Crossfire is an exception of that.

P.S. Just to take me seriously, I'm the one that provided to the forum the official statement from INCA Internet that is in the Sticky tread (had to ask them as there was no official information on the internet by that time).

I 100% take your seriously. However, I think you just don't realize you repeated exactly what Saidin said ;) Both your posts say GG does not work with Crossfire, however you just added on that they have updated the other games, or that their file structure was different then ours.

Hm, you are right if we look it that way :) My point was more in other direction - Game Guard as general is woking with Windows 7, just not the version for Crossfire. In my opinion the GMs should probably ... lets say urge the developers of Game Guard to update it for Crossfire too.

This shouldn't be hard or time consuming as they basically have a working product. Moreover they promised nearly 2 months ago that they will do that for our game (mentioned in the official communication) and we can suppose that some effort was made in that direction. This request can easily be supported by the fact that the official release of Windows 7 is in just a day from now (at least in my time zone) and lots of people have downloaded the 90 days free trial provided by MS.
